you're leaning towards the thinner side, and you want to lose the muscle? people are going to ask how tall you are, and what you weigh--so you might want to add it to your post. Just the way you described yourself, you don't even sound 'overweight'. It doesn't sound like you have huge muscles, either--like a regular weightlifter or something. Do you feel you are too muscular?

Doing pilates will help lengthen the muscles without losing them. You don't want to lose muscle (unless you look like a body builder) because that is how you maintain your weight as your get older and your metabolism slows.
You can find me on the web at Koreafornian Cooking, ZenKimchi Food Journal, Twitter & on Facebook.

yeah--maybe certain exercises or stretches (like yoga) would work for you--because you don't have many extra lbs (yr height/weight is good) to get rid of--and like Tamar1973 said you don't want to lose muscle if yours aren't enormous. >< It makes your body work.

Muscle can't turn to fat. They're different types of tissues/cells. ^^;

^ muscles cant really turn to fat but when the gymnastics competition was over, almost everyone in my gym that stopped training felt that their muscles turned to fats. like it was no longer hard lol. i know it sounds weird that muscles can turn to fats, but i think it happens.

stop exercising, i think that will reduce muscles.

eh sorry, this is quite useless.

Stretching didn't really help me at all. It's only supposed to help stretch out short muscles and make them longer so that they look less bulky?

I lost muscle mass through starvation, and so far that's the only way I know. But I kept exercising and lost fat too <.<;
Sorry! not very helpful, but its the only way I know ^^;

I don't know why anyone would want to lose muscle. But there are two ways to lose muscle. The first is not exercising, if you don't work out you will lose strength and muscle.

The second is starvation, when you don't eat for long periods of time, you body starts burning muscle for energy.

I have the same problem. I have more muscle and its making me look thick. I'm trying to make them turn into fat so I can lose the fat.

i'm in the exact position as you.
so far, the tips are not eating, cardio, and stretching.
sounds difficult, esp. the starvation part..
