well the korean wave has been going for a while (except not much in japan), but its most likely gonna die down within the next few years. so wat do u guys think will be the next big craze in asia?

i'm guessing entertainment from mainland china could be the next big thing, although it may be difficult with their censorship laws, but still, i have a feeling they'll be producing the next big thing.

wat do u guys think?

yeah.. its probably gonna die down soon. in singapore, the korean wave is pretty much less as compared to last year..

im not too sure about entertainment from china, but they are making themselves prominent on the world map. with the 2008 olympics and 2010 world expo. then again, music from china doesnt appeal to me because its kinda oriental and just not "cool/hip" enough.

I think that Japan and Korea will alternate in terms of influence. Malaysia isn't quite rich enough yet (though by 2020 they may be a powerhouse in this department also), Vietnam and China are still not very big in terms of mass media and stuff.

Korean wave will die down to make way for a Japanese wave which will die down for a Korean wave.

That's my guess.

maybe c-pop will come rising~
since there are foreign artists going to china/HK
it's most likely to get more fans hooked to c-pop
i'll stick to what i listen now: k/c-pop.

I think its the CPOP. China seems to be improving in everything lately. Their economy AND music. Its seems to be a good place to start making predictions.

Well, Japanese wave is still pretty much going (We just don't see it because..This is a korean forum LOL)

Once people get sick of the neverending Korean dramas and pretty-boy bands then maybe Cpop's gonna invade D=<

Am I the only person who doesnt like most of the new comers in Cpop? I mean sure they look good and everything, but can thye sing and dance?

I only listen to a select few cantonese artists. I should give others a chance, but people like Ron Ng >__<'' he needs to work on his english..

I'd go with China.
There's already some chinese people in popular Korean entertainment (Han Kyung from SuJu, Henry the violin boy featured in SuJu...LOL) and there's a lot of cinema coming out of China that is getting a lot of hype.

and I think in a way Japan has always had a subtle influence in Asian media and fashion.
