This is the iMac touchscreen version done by Troll Touch. It uses the pressure-sensitive resistive technology to enable activation with any type of stylus, including fingertips and pencil points. The overlays are made from chemically strengthened glass to ensure durability.

The OS is built for mouse-centric usage; therefore, using fingers or other specific utensils will actually be harder than using a mouse.
I'd expect a brand new OS from Apple like the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Am I the only one who thinks touch screens are such a stupid gimmick?

Tactile control and feedbackare still the best to me.

O_o they do have touch screens for PCs...

They sell like overlays that can go on top of the screen and they do sell screens (usually smaller ones like 7") with built in touch screens. Common uses are like carputers or kiosks (like a digital picture printing station).

For example have you guys heard of the EEE laptop?
http://jkkmobile.blogspot.com/2007/12/asus...uch-screen.html
That guy put in a touch screen on top of his LCD and now he can do touchscreen.

Btw I am pretty sure I heard games + touchscreen = headshot friendly tap to the head

Yea.

Don't they have like...projections on a tabletop that you can move around using your hands? I think microsoft was coming out with it.

edit: Search Microsoft Surface PC on google.

Are you serious? HP makes plenty of touch-screen desktops and laptops.

Touch screen computers has been around forever.. lol

Besides, I would get annoyed if I have to clean dirty marks on the screen everytime that I use it.

I agree. I think using a touch screen would be harder to use than a mouse. Your arm would probably fall asleep from having to keep it raised up all the time, haha.

you have to consider it's just about the technology.
Sooner or later there will be good applications that support touch screen...

all i can really think of are store cashier applications. lol

Wouldn't your arm get sore from having to touch the screen if you were using it for prolonged periods of time? And you'd also have to sit pretty close to the screen..
