Okay, so i was lookin around for another car... i found a couple nice ones from private sellers, but the problem was the car title isnt clear. Some had a "theft" title, or "salvage" title, etc. Im curious, is there anyway to get rid of that to make it a clear title? And would you buy a car with no clean title even if the car is okay? Im wondering because everytime i find a car i like and if it has a salvage title, or it isnt clear, then i would skip that car. Thnx for your feedback...if you leave any.

Well the title is there to protect future owners of the car. So that they know prior to buying the car if the car had been stolen before (hence the theft title) and stripped completely down? Perhaps a salvage title, where the car had possibly been in an accident where the damage was severe enough that the cost of repair was more than half the value the car?

Don't be decieved either by the clean title. Occassionally if the owner gets into a accident and repairs the car out of pocket or does it themselves, then the title stays clear because its not reported, nor does it need to be. Carfax reports can help, but do not rely on them. My previous car which was basically destroyed, still held a clear title and this and that for nearly a year until a accident/police (also airbag deployment) report inidicator came up on carfax...lol. The best bet is to get the car checked out thoroughly and inspected prior to purchase.

Just be warned though, if you buy the car salvaged or with the theft title, its almost always sold AS-IS and when you try to resell the car in future, don't expect to sell it for much as its value has dropped considerably.
