So I started taking lessons from a golf pro a few days ago and my hands were okay for a while but once we got into the full swing + perfect ending pose I got 3 little but painful bubbles on my hands. I showed them to the pro but she said that's what happens and I can't do anything about it.

I'm sure these are calluses? I remember I got one before during summer camp from rowing a boat right between my thumb and 2nd finger and I remember it hurt like death. Does anyone know how I can avoid these from golfing? Gloves don't help apparently because I was wearing one on my left hand and I still got a callus there. Should I wrap them with gauze? Apply ointment? Or let it breath?

And what happens to them? Do they pop? mellow.gif

I can't get out of golf and this pro is really really strict...she makes me hit 200 balls in 40 minutes ph34r.gif so I doubt insecurities about the state of my hands will make her slow down

Also, what does golf work out? I know your arms and hips are a given since they're the parts that ache the most but what about your back?

I played golf for school during high school and would always get calluses. I usually dont do anything to them, they go away after a while. You can try to put a bandage over them if the skin starts to peel.

they do not pop. It goes away after 3-5 days. I hope that pro golfer told you about getting the right golfing gloves. Golfing can get you muscles and make your performance balanced if you know what I mean. But if you do not strech your back and ect. before and after you gold it can cause some serious pain.

yeah. get the right glove(s) and also don't grip the club so tight causes too much friction cause thats what happened to me when i was younger and now i got 3 of them on my glove hand... well golf works out the core muscles so like the abs, hips, and the back so most of your stretching should be directed to that area, and the more powerful your core muscles are the more consistent your swing will be.
