I heard AMD has shorter battery life on laptop. Intel could last approx 5 hours, how many hours do you think AMD can last?

Need to know asap, ty.

it all depends on how you use your laptop when you're off the grid. Brightness, hard drive use, wifi etc all affect the battery life, but generally the intel core 2 duo's have better battery life.

This report shows that AMD consumes more power than Intel, thus have shorter battery life. According to the charts, AMD consumes 25-30% more power than the intel 2 duo cores.

If Intel last 5 hours like you say, AMD should last about 3.5 hours.

BUT battery life depends on a variety of factors. I myself have a Intel Core 2 Duo 7250 in my laptop and I can get about 3 hours. According to my laptop I would get about 2.2 hours if I had AMD instead.

Just get either a Centrino or Turion processor and you know you'll be getting a good battery saver. That's all there is to it.

Definately Intel.

It's faster and more efficent. And the new one just came out, i think it was Dual Core Quad Processor. O_O must be an intense computer ^^

and Intel doesn't last 5 hrs. Unless all you do is type. You need liek a 12 cell battery which will stick out of you laptop. and make it ugly and heavy. ToT (yes i have it)

ok the AMD im getting has 6000 maH, 9 battery cells. The intel one is 4800 maH, 8 battery cells. therefore AMD clearly has longer battery life.

Correct me if im wrong

It depends mostly on the other parts inside it. The biggest eater of battery life is wireless + screen brightness; turn it off and the lowering the brightness will increase battery life.

Keeping all things the same -- a new Intel laptop could run for about 4 hours and an AMD will be about half that time so 2 hours.

Intel CPUs generally utilise less battery, thus last longer.
