Similiar to: Bloc Party, Hadouken, The Maccabees, The Rapture, The Rakes
Klaxons is an AWSOME band from London, England. Their sound is unique and refered to as "acid-rave sci-fi punk-funk" or 'Psychedelic / Progressive / Pop'. They are influenced by the early nineties rave scene (although, they dislike being placed in that genre), The KLF, John Foxx, The Prodigy, novelist William Burroughs, the astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and Aleister Crowley.

Aw, don't have too many of their songs, or know too much about them yet, but somehow I got completely obsessed over that one song, 'Gravity's Rainbow'.

i used to like them sooo much when the whole nu-rave thing broke out, but their songs got annoying and tiring after listening to them alot
let's go back to old-school rave

i like golden skans, remix version

they arent very active lately

similar band: 'sh_tdisco', also labelled as nu-rave
some say 'the horrors' is sort of nu-rave, but personal preference

these guys are alright. i guess i didn't get into them a lot because of everyone over-hyping the whole "nu-rave" genre, that is probably going to die out rather soon...
however, their songs are pretty good.. 'Magik' being a favourite of mine. 'golden scans' got annoying after it was replayed ten bajillion times on the radio..

i reckon its cute how Simon Taylor-Davis is engaged to Lovefoxxx from CSS. the ultimate indie couple!

haha they do!! its cool how they got each other's name tattooed on themselves. lets hope they stay together or simon will have to find someone else called Lovefoxxx to go out with...

nu-rave, it probably died a while ago actually, but there are still some people trying to keep it alive by wearing fluro and all that...but i guess they should realise its not as cool as before..

haha, hard to come by with someone name lovefoxxx laugh.gif

i dont mind fluro that that much, after all, even though nu-rave died, rave havent. even the clothing brands that associate with nu-rave still try to cling onto it, like House of Holland and Casette Playa. but i guess you are right, it's not as cool and hyped as before.

electro Djs are bringing back the old school rave though

i think, Klaxons is still a great band, but the label 'nu-rave' really gave people the one-hit-wonder impression. i guess klaxons just have to over come this whole 'nu-rave' bussiness.
i read they changed their look too. now they cling to this australian designer i think...

they are definitely a style icon of times though. and i read about them liking australian clothing cos they did a spread in the General Pants Co. mag 'Our People'. they are impeccable tastes for clothing... if i was a dude i'd be looking up to them for fashion advice lol...

their sounds are a cross between so many genres it just sounds good. they seem to be the favourite on a lot of indie disco nights. and yes, i agree they are very unique in their music.

I've only heard "Golden Skans" cuz it was on heavy rotation on MTVU for a while last spring. It was alright.

And now, I'm actually reading "Gravity's Rainbow"- so I'll give them another shot since I'm a dork like that.
My avatar is NOT a picture of me, that's Nishikido Ryo. And yes, he is hot.
I'm a girl.
