Klaxons is an AWSOME band from London, England. Their sound is unique and refered to as "acid-rave sci-fi punk-funk" or 'Psychedelic / Progressive / Pop'. They are influenced by the early nineties rave scene (although, they dislike being placed in that genre), The KLF, John Foxx, The Prodigy, novelist William Burroughs, the astronaut Buzz Aldrin, and Aleister Crowley.

let's go back to old-school rave
i like golden skans, remix version

similar band: 'sh_tdisco', also labelled as nu-rave
some say 'the horrors' is sort of nu-rave, but personal preference

however, their songs are pretty good.. 'Magik' being a favourite of mine. 'golden scans' got annoying after it was replayed ten bajillion times on the radio..
i reckon its cute how Simon Taylor-Davis is engaged to Lovefoxxx from CSS. the ultimate indie couple!

nu-rave, it probably died a while ago actually, but there are still some people trying to keep it alive by wearing fluro and all that...but i guess they should realise its not as cool as before..

i dont mind fluro that that much, after all, even though nu-rave died, rave havent. even the clothing brands that associate with nu-rave still try to cling onto it, like House of Holland and Casette Playa. but i guess you are right, it's not as cool and hyped as before.
electro Djs are bringing back the old school rave though
i think, Klaxons is still a great band, but the label 'nu-rave' really gave people the one-hit-wonder impression. i guess klaxons just have to over come this whole 'nu-rave' bussiness.
i read they changed their look too. now they cling to this australian designer i think...

their sounds are a cross between so many genres it just sounds good. they seem to be the favourite on a lot of indie disco nights. and yes, i agree they are very unique in their music.

And now, I'm actually reading "Gravity's Rainbow"- so I'll give them another shot since I'm a dork like that.
I'm a girl.
