Does Your School Have Psychological Services? If so, do/have u use/d it?

So, at my school, we have what's called CAPS (career and psychological services)... and I've thought about going there a few depressing times! But I never went cause I guess I feel weird about going there... I guess I'm scared that it wont' be as confidential as they say, and they might think I'm stupid for having these problems or they won't understand my problems.... I'm just indimidated.

i wanna know if you guys have taken advantage of this service and your school and how did it go???

I have used the services in my university. I went there right after I quit my program after being in it for three years and had a year left.

heh yeah they have it .. & i was thinking about going too.. but i also feel weird..
but i guess i`ll see when school starts again..

we have a counsellor that discusses psychological stuff with us.
we also have a careers advisor.

i've been to the careers advisor, and i'm glad i did. i've wanted to go to the counsellor before but never got around to it, lol.

We have a counseling center. I've never used the services, but they have events for students every month.

yes. my school offers psychological services but I do not utilize them

i work very closely with the counseling services since i'm an Resident Advisor. they are a great resource for students, please do not hesitate to visit them! nothing is ever stupid. know how many free sessions you get, because their job is to help you figure out whatever the situation you're dealing with, and also to referr you to a private counselor. we get 12 free sessions for the 4 years we are there, and i get an extra 6 sessions for any resident advisor related issues. we are recommended to visit counselors even if it not for a serious problem, and from those experience it was very casual. i high recommend people to talk to their counselors, better sooner than later!
