Ah odd problem you have.
Ill tell you this, its usually a bad sign.
First, try to unplug your computer.. wait a little (like 20 seconds) then plug it back in. Hit power and cross your fingers.
Fans that turn on but no light is a bad sign because I have fried 3 motherboards so far and thats what they do. Its like you push it, you hear fans but nothing happens. It is possible that your power supply has went out. Its far more common for a power supply to burn out than a motherboard to burn out.
Depending on what you have I can search for one you can buy online, although buying it from a store gives you a easy method to return if ti doesn't work. They go for about $30-50 for a light power supply. I doubt you will need the monster ones, not too hard to install.

thank u so much. i've told my classmate about this and he told me the same thing about da power supply. but i was wondering about the motherboard. because i had it replaced recently..well, about two months ago (one month before the pc turned on me). it turned on on New Years Eve...n has been dead since then. i think my pc is pmsing. so cranky.

Oh thats not so fun then.
Since your board is new, I would still blame the issue on your power supply because your power supply MIGHT have say shorted and blew up your previous motherboard. And just barely worked until now and hopefully your board is still okay.
Thats quite hard, probably a good idea to get the power supply tested. Very easy to do, should be fast. Its like volt meter, red = 5volt, yellow = 12v, orange = 3.3v and hopefully it should all check out. Yes, the voltages are tested while the computer is "on" and the fans are blowing. If any of the three are below by 10% then its worth changing the power supply.

Did you have your computer on an UPS or line voltage regulator? Power spikes can kill computers quickly or slowly.
Is the power supply undersized or oversized to the mother board and all the other cards?
edit: oversized power supply is not a problem.

uh question... how do i test the power supply? i see that you mentioned how to read the voltage but i don't know what i'm suppose to read it with. >< either that or i missed it. huh. maybe i should ask my dad if he has a voltage meter.
"Did you have your computer on an UPS or line voltage regulator?" ---> my computer has always been plugged to the UPS.
thx again 4 both ur help!!! i hope to get it settled. if it's another burned motherboard, i can get it replaced for free but it won't solve anything if my power supply is not enough or over. thank you so much!

Did you take it somewhere to get the board changed? You should really have them take a look at it again
they would have the stuff to test if they know what they're doing.
