I don't think there would be season 2, coz as what you had seen from season 1, they treat Akito as a guy.
I think they rather would wish to keep the show PG more than making it NC, as the further chapters of the books makes it darker than the starting volumes of the book

as much as i would love for there to be another season of fruits basket, i don't think there will be. i remember reading that the some voice actors for the fruit basket went into retirement or sumthing and it'll be hard to get them back. its difficult to get the original voice actors for the second season because its been so long since fruits basket appeared on anime.

Same here but I really don't think there will be one.
After 2 years I've come to terms that it's better to leave Fruits Basket the anime the way it is.
Just go ahead and read the manga.

The anime does have space for a second part, and hopefully it will! The ending of the anime is so..unfinished....but the manga ended already ( T_T)
