Ok, I don't know about you guys, but I'm a junior in HS and i'm feeling VERY pressured. My teachers are saying how we're supposed to be doing one hour of homework for each course a night at the very least, I have four classes currently so that means a minimum of four hours of hmk on top of a regular 7-8 hour school day (not including if you have a test/project due the next day). I feel like school if consuming my whole life. I don't even have time to pursue other mentally engaging activities such as reading or writing in my spare time.

As a result, I have turned into the biggest procrastinator ever. I have no motivation in school. It's like a have soooo many projects, assignments, tests, and exams are coming up as well, so i don't even know where to start! I really don't even know which test to begin studying for or which project should i complete first because there is just way too many. So as a result, I just end up ignoring everything (horrible, i know) until the very last minute. I mean, the rare days I'm only assigned like two pages of homework, I do it right away.

I just feel like it's only going to get worse in the senior year and even worse in university! It doesn't help that all my friends are super academic people that can just sit down for like 5 hours straight just doing homework. It's actually even come to a point where I just don't do homework anymore.

Are you guys feeling the same pressure? I have to admit, I definitely rate very high on a laziness scale and I know I don't have any motivation, but this level of homework load is just insane!

junior year indeed is VERY difficult
but thankfully, i've been blessed with amazing teachers
they know how it is for us and they try to accomodate us as much as they can
(ie: changing due dates, etc)
and since so many people cry when grades are posted
(i go to a complete nerd school smile.gif )
they always give us inspirational speeches
(no matter how uninspiring they are to us, the point is the teachers try)
you know what?
just grit your teeth.
you know they say, grit it and bear it smile.gif
it's only for one more semester then your junior year is over.

as for your lack of motivation, think about what's on stake
you slack off on one assignment and then before you know it, you slack off in the entire class and you have an unsatisfactory grade in your transcript
even if it may not be positive motivation, it's better than no motivation
for me, i think along the lines of...
no class can get the best of me.
i'm smart and i'm going to prove it to myself and to everybody else who treat me elsewise

about procrastination, i cant help you.
school starts for me next monday and i just started my school work now smile.gif

OH yeah. you're not the only one.
last semester was HELL. it was the worst time of my life.
soo much hw and projects and essays for soooo many hard classes.
that's why i dropped two pre-ap classes to regulars.
i'm doing good now
regulars isn't even worth talking about. it's way too easy.
