When i first got Daily contact lenses, i wore them once and then threw them away.
My mom realized this and told me that you can use them at least two times, soo i did that.
Later on which is now, i used them 4-5 times. So one pair for pretty much one week.

So i was just wondering if this is healthy or bad for your eyes.

Thanks In Advance!! sweatingbullets.gif

lol no clue, but i dont see how it's a good thing..........since daily disposables are only meant for a day.........but hey if you only wear it for 4 hrs for one day, i'm sure it doesnt hurt to keep it to wear another 4 hrs.......

depends on your eye too.........one of my cousins, keeps his daily disposables for months at a time........he told his eye doctor about it who went "ohh you do? well since you're not having problems i guess its ok"

doesn't proteins form and effect the contacts? im not really sure of this but yeah.
its not good to wear disposable ones too long.
my friend wore her disposable ones for 4 months and her eyes got heckaaa red and puffy.
its good to wear disposable one for 2-4weeks depending on how long you wear them
and daily ones, if i had them, id wear it for total of 12 hours. thats just me...
my friend has daily ones since she can't take care of contacts well (she tried..she failed) and she
just tosses them at night every day.

the daily contact lenses are softer than the 2 week ones
i'm pretty sure they're called DAILY contact lenses for a reason
maybe it builds up protein easier

^^ Proteins affect any contacts, not just daily disposables. They irritate eyes, but don't really hinder vision I believe.

It should be okay. I don't think a week is really good for your eyes... Maybe three days should be okay. But be careful, and wash your contacts with solution! Wash them well because otherwise they'll get infected.

I think that you should stop using them, because you could get an infection in your eye(s).

maybe a few days is ok but not 4-5, unless they are still in very good condition and cleaned very well otherwise you might get eye infections ><

Thanks for all the replies!
I usually wash them really good before using them again
but i guess 4-5 is pretty bad, soo i guess i'll go back to 2-3 days sweatingbullets.gif

I use my contacts for like.. 3months. They're meant to be disposed after a month of use.

I would suggest following the recommended amount, so if they are for daily use, then you need to change them daily. Getting an eye infection will cost a lot more to treat than the contacts do (Trust me, I ended up getting a lovely case of giant papillary conjunctivitis, and I had to use eye drops for over 1 year, and I could not wear my contacts while using them).

I have contacts that are intended to be worn for a month, but i can make them last for as long as 3 or 4 months.

My optometrist says that you can wear any contacts for as long as you want, as long as you take good care of them. Contacts aren't made with a specific expiration date - when the protein buildup irritates your eyes is when you should throw them away. Just make sure you take good care of the contacts (take them out every night, rinse them, etc.) and throw them RIGHT away if it starts being uncomfortable for your eyes.

Just use good judgment smile.gif

well, you 'can' wear them than the recommended amount of days suitable but once you start to feel your eyes straining, looking red and puffy you sould start taking them off. make sure you clean them properly and all.
