so i got a digital camera for my birthday and its great. except this past summer, i was handing my friend my camera to take a picture of me with someone, and there was a mishap with the passing. i let go and he didn't catch and the next thing you know camera hits the ground while its on. now, sometimes it works and doesn't work. when it doesn't work, it turns on, beeps, then says "lens error" and shuts off. if i give it a little shake, it will turn on and take pictures, but the quality of the picture varies, i think it has to do with the flash. When i shake the camera a little, there's a rattling sound so i'm pretty sure something inside the camera is broken. now my big question is, is it fixable? or do i have to get a new one....

Is It Broken? trying to figure out if there's still hope.

I reckon the best way is to get a new one, but get it checked first to see if there are still any hope left~~ weigh out the costs, if it takes more to fix than buy a completely brand new one then I guess you might as well get yourself a new one! I do feel for you though, my cam stuffed up once and I was panic-stricken!

Unfortunately it will cost a lot to get it fixed, generally a dropped camera costs over $100 to send in to be "repaired" I quoted it because they normally just send you a replacement refurbished unit and use your old camera for parts to rebuild later on.
With that in mind, new cameras may cost $200-300 but you will get more features and like with most new cameras higher resolutions which overall translates to better quality pictures and all that and that just seems nice.
