i have really big calf muscles for an average girl. Recently i joined the gym, but dont know which machine to use to tone up my calf. i was about to use this one machine w/ the picture of the calf muscles, but a person told me its only gonna make the calf muscles bigger, not smaller.
i asked well how should i tone my calf and she said i have to run.
but then running would work ur calf muscles, wouldn't tat then make ur calf bigger too? cuz i remember i read a topic here and ppl were saying running make their calf muscles bigger.

i remember asking my doc if running will help me just get bigger in general...i figured you expend more energy, thus eat more, plus working the leg muscles..........he said no, it'd keep me skinny, but running wont help build muscle, at least nothing noticeable.......only weight would do that.

at first, yeah, running makes your calf muscles bigger. but if you stay consistent, your calves will get toned and start to be leaner. that's why those marathon runners have such tiny legs even though they run so much.

Those who sprint generally have thicker calves, and long distance runners have thinner calves (atleast that's what i've noticed)

Are you sure it's muscle and not fat? Running will burn the fat if your heartrate reaches cardio level but I doubt it'd make your calves bulge with muscle

Long distance = toned calves.
Short distance = thicker calves.
Short distance = thicker calves.
when he says my name, I can't stop smiling. ♥
