i'm completely confused too. i always thought evening exercise was better, but i'm also hearing that morning is better. i just read somewhere that you burn fat right away if you exercise in the morning, but it takes about 30 minutes of exercise in the evening to start burning fat. i really don't know, but i guess you should go with the time that will allow you to keep up the exercise. either way, you'll probably lose weight.

I heard morning exercise was better but I dunno. I guess as long as u maintain a steady exercise schedule it should help. People tend to do it only for a week or 2 that's why there's no results.

they're not really mutually exclusive to one another.

reason why running at night may burn less fat and break down less muscle is because your body uses the food you ate as a primary source of energy. for similar reason, when you run in the morning, that energy is not readily available, and therefore resorts to fat/muscle to muster up the energy you need to exercise.

depending on your goal, your method will differ. if you want to lose fat first and then work on building muscle, run in the morning. however, if you want to focus on muscle growth and make it easier for you to keep the weight off in the future, run at night. (you'll lose fat slower this way though).
