Ipod Touch Can't Go On Safari Or Youtube even tho it's connected to wifi...

Yes when i first got my itouch a fwe days ago...there was no song or anything in..so i connected via wifi to a network and i was able to go online/youtube.
but now that i've loaded my songs into the itouch...i connected the wifi but i still could not go on youtube or safari...it says "cannot connect to youtube" even tho there is an internet connection ...

does anyone know why?
Should I bring it to an apple store? i dont have the receipt for it T.T

they dont care about your recipt they check warranty based on the serial number on the back.

Let's try to fix your wireless issues. Is your network secured? If it is, try to reenter the wireless key. You can also click home>settings>wireless to get to the wireless settings. You can click on the right arrow of the netwrk you at connected to then you can look at your ip address a normal one starts with 192.168..... While a defective one looks like 169..... You can click renew ip at the bottom or click forget this network and start fresh.

Did you jailbreak it?

No I didnt jailbreak it.
Oh wait I dont think its connected to wifi. Cuz it didnt say any IP address. I dont have the password for my home cable internet lol so maybe ill try to get that and have it connected to my cable internet instead.

Well if thats the case, still go to Home button > Settings > wifi and make sure your network is selected.

Ohh and it helps to make sure your wireless on the ipod is on

How do I make sure my wireless on my ipod is on?

All I did was go to settings > wifi > choose a network > then it has that check mark which means it's been connected
but then when i go back to youtube and safari...still says "cannot connect to etc"

I remember when i first got it, i would click on youtube and it'd ask me to join a net work...now it doesnt do that anymore? (even when i didnt connect it to wifi)
