I love you for making this thread. They're my favorite band evarrr.

I made an official thread for them here, but it died quickly just like my Saturday Night Wrist thread lol. Their aren't a whole lot of other Deftones fans on soompi.

Around the Fur is my favorite album of theirs. I was just listening to MX earlier, ha.

My favorite song though is probably Minerva. I just love it. It's beautiful. I love their harder stuff too though. Hell, I love all of their stuff. I can't wait until the new album comes out. Supposedly they have at least 8 songs written now..? Hopefully they won't procrastinate like last time. I want it now!

I LOVE CHINOOOOOOOOOOO

I'm not a HUGE fan, but I love their music. Their newest album isn't as good as White Pony or Saturday Night Wrist.

But SNW is their latest album. ?

I'd actually rate them as (in order):

ATF
Deftones
Adrenaline/White Pony
SNW

I do love WP but ATF just flows so well and I think their self titled album is really underrated. I can see why a lot of people might not like it as much, but it's just something that I particularly love.

I meant Around the Fur. Typo. I tend to get stuff confused. So much music floating on my iPod and computer nowadays. Well compared to their previous albums, Saturday Night Wrist just didn't have "it", if you know what I mean. It was a good album but it wasn't like the previous ones where I could just sit through it without skipping any tracks. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to future releases from them.

by " it" are you talking about their usual grungy heaviness?
I actually liked Saturday Night Wrist...what's that song..Pink Maggot I think..the dialouge at the end is soooo funny
" dirty, filthy....xxxxjobs, at truck stop restaurants" hahaha had me on the floor laughing.
I think they should do more compilations as well.
OH has anyone heard their B-sides and rarities?
it is the BEST I have ever heard..it's amazing..especially Be Quiet and Drive the acoustic version...ah spastic.

I guess the heavier grungy style that I was more accustomed to hearing from them was the thing that was missing. As to the B-Side? I never bothered. I always thought b-sides were bad left-over meat. Maybe I'll give it a shot. I guess you never know until you try.

I love Deftones as well. They invited Dir en grey to tour with them recently. Unfortunately I wasn't aware...I missed two of my favorite bands at once!

I like both the early and late Deftones, same with Dir en grey. Sometimes I prefer the heavy stuff, other times I like to chill with the newer stuff.

And I agree, Passenger (with Maynard doing vocals) is awesome. Maynard is my favorite vocalist ever, so it may be my favorite Deftones song ever as well.

Oh, absolutely. I mean, I still like SNW, but it's my least favorite. It has really good songs like Kimdracula and Beware, but the band was going through a lot of crap while they were making it and they almost broke up. I think it shows on the album how hard it was to actually get it finished. But they seem to be really happy together now and they're working really smoothly on the next album. I think it will be really good.

I love their B Sides album. There is some stuff on there that I don't really listen to like the remix of Teenager and Black Moon (wtf), but they do awesome covers (Simple Man, No Ordinary Love, Savory), and their acoustics are great but my absolute FAVORITE song on the album is their original song Crenshaw Punch. It was supposed to be on ATF, but they canned it because it was too similar to Dai the Flu or Damone or something. But I personally love it. I agree about the BQAD acoustic. It was actually the main reason why I bought the album in the first place. Plus is comes with a DVD of their videos and stuff which is nice, but I'd love for them to actually release a full length concert DVD some day.

I first got interested in 'em after their Family Values Tour with Dir en grey.

They're really awesome, I love the White Pony-album, Rx-Queen is my favourite song.
