3. How serious do you think diabetes is? on scale 0 to 5, 0 is not serious at all and 5 is extremely serous.
4. How much do you think the illness will affect the diabetic? on scale 0-5.
5. How much do you think you will be affected if one of your close ones had diabetes?on scale 0-5.
6. How much money a year can you imagine to give for research? 0, 3, 6, 9, 12 or 15 dollars or more?
7. How often do you think about you health? on scale 0-5 Is it important to eat right and exercise enough?

[5] It takes a lot of freedom away from them. They can't consume the same things they used too. This illness affects a persons eyes, kidney, nerves, and blood vessels. So, once diagnosed with Diabetes, a persons life changes drastically.
5. How much do you think you will be affected if one of your close ones had diabetes?on scale 0-5.
[5] My father is a diabetic.. He has lost the ability to walk, see clearly, to eat, and even his memory is affected.
6. How much money a year can you imagine to give for research? 0, 3, 6, 9, 12 or 15 dollars or more?
I'd give as much as I possibly can, just for my fathers sake.

Even though I am not directly affected by diabetics, I know there are many people out there who suffer from it. I'm not smart enough to research diseases but I would give money to help current diabetes researchers.

very...some people have to get their foot amputated...5

as a nutrition major, i had a biochem class for nutrition majors this past semester and my prof did research with this one enzyme in glucise metabolism that may be a cure to diabetes one day...what irks me about diabetics is that, they seem to think that all is not lost...if you notice, more fat people are diabetic that skinnier people....if people would just eat right and exercuse...we would not be spending BILLIONS OF DOLLARS EACH YEAR ON HEALTHCARE!

one of my friends has it but he seems fine.. pretty much like everyone else i know.. i mean he gets blood drawn once in a while but thats about it
unless the consequences people are talking about only apply to type 2 diabetics, i'm kind of worried for him now...

our bio teacher was talking about his daughter's diabetes just several days ago...

a lot of people died of diabetes and stuff...
including my grandma...
but a lot of people don't really realize how serious it is.. ><!!!
