Well, at the moment I'm in AP Biology, yet, I have a semi-lack of interest in it >.<"" I aced regular biology, but I'm only surviving with a C in AP Biology. Is there any kind of method that any other AP Biology students use to get themselves more interested in the material of the course? Any strategies you can come up with for me? xDD

Unfortunately, the AP Biology textbook is really, really, really long and detailed. =/ The only thing I can think of is to study a lot. Even if you don't want to do it, ...DO IT! smile.gif

Okay that wasn't very useful. Haha sorry :x

Ahhhh, I know how you feel.
I have to make this stupid phylogenetic tree, read eight chapters in the textbook, and answer questions.
I have yet to start.
._.

Arghh, I wish I was more interested in this subject... But learning about the molecular stuff just puts me to sleep.
Please tell me if you ever figure out a solution to this problem.

Yah just motivate yourself into thinking that you don't have to take the intro killer weed-out course of Bio 101 when you get into college. The exam is easy and only covers the basics.

Hey I took AP Bio last year and I'll tell you the best thing: GET THE CLIFFSNOTES BOOK! (the yellow-and black one) biggrin.gif It's amazing and pretty easy to understand. I never even opened the textbook 'cause it always put me to sleep sleep.gif but the CliffsNotes saved my life lol ^^

I took AP BIOLOGY. I had the THICK, SUPER detailed book...like red binding, black cover with a pic of a plant (idk if you have teh same book)..BUt basically Barron's AP Biology Exam Review Book definitely helped me.

I read the AP exam review book and got a A in the class.

It really helps. trust me.

I hate the current section and the next - Microbes and Plants. Blegh. crazy.gif

Bleh. I'm not doing so well in that class, but luckily my teacher gives our class like 10 point curves.
Whew. But in order to study I put a bunch of post-its in the textbooks and add notes from class into the textbook (on the postits)
Also you might want to buy the workbook that comes with the AP Bio textbook.
It helps LOADS.

I'm actually in the same boat. I take AP Biology, and have an B, but I really have no interest in it whatsoever. I loved Honors Bio last year and had an A at the end of the year, but now I really don't feel like doing the work, or studying. I guess it's because in Honors Bio we were more hands on with our lessons and had games and live examples to understand the material, while in AP Biology, it's all book work and silence. Plus ours is a double period, and my teacher has absolutey no quality of infelction in his tone.

The look in Junsu's eyes... He'd never seen a fear like that. It broke him to see a fear like that.

Bio was my favorite subject last year....I think the topics are naturally interesting if you pay attention. Campbell also has the interactive online demos and quizzes. Use the CliffsAP Biology book. It's the best one out there. You can use it to study for the AP exam and the SAT II.

i took AP bio last year
i think i had the newer edition tho (i had the green one first but my school got the orange and black one)
the newer edition is better to understand then the green version!
i got the AP version of Campells. they use the same type of textbook in college.

i think Bio is pretty interesting.. on the ecology level.
microbio is so confusing.
