I notice it is getting increasing popular to have Korean dramas available as MickEyBABy encoded video files. These files require H264 codec to view. It is no big problem on PC's where one can download the required codec. But these files cannot be played on my DivX players. I have a LG DVD player that support standard DivX, and a Philips DVD player that support Ultra DivX, neither of them can play the MickEyBABy avi files.
Anyone knows of a way to play the MickEyBABy files on DivX players?

i think you just explained it -- mickeybaby releases their dramas encoded with H264, which is different from MPEG4/divx/xvid and thus, will NOT play on your DIVX player(s). the only way to get it to play is to convert your collection to DIVX/XVID.

i have an old modded xbox1 and with XBMC, you can play divx, asf, mov, mkv, h264, etc files. if you have an old xbox, consider this as your tv/media player tongue.gif

Thanks apparition for the info. I guess I was hoping someone may know of a way to add video codec to divX player.

I understand the XBox can be used as a divX player, but what does XBMC give you? Can the setup support displaying SubRip type of subtitle files?

ya, ive watched a few shows and dramas on my XBMC/TV setup with avi(divx)+srt(subrip soft sub) files. does a nice job displaying the subs too. if you dont have a modded xbox1 kicking around, then, hm... but...i dont think there is another player that plays h.264 encoded files that i know of... well, unless you consider HD-DVD/bluray?? but thats a whole other story.

consider a HTPC or a laptop setup for your TV if you want to play these files? thats another solution.

translation: -Theory- thinks that there could be a firmware update for your divx player that will allow you to play h264. i doubt it though. search on your divx player's manufacturer's website for the newest firmware and see if they've added support for h264 stuff. i still doubt they've done this though.
