does it go down right away? or does atleast try to download a bit?

Try lowering your Maximum Connections per task to 70 or so, and if that works you can keep raising it until it kicks your connection again. Set it to just below that number. You can get to Max Connections by clicking on the Preferences tab, then click on Connection, then click on Maximum Connections per task and set it to 70. Its the fifth option from the top, directly under Remove Port on NAT/Firewall(XP only). Hopefully this will solve the problem for you. If not, you might have to reconfigure your router.

mine didn't really stops the internet from working BUT it did d/c the internet so often and it dl'd really slow
but i found that my modem's firewall was blocking it so maybe you can try portwarding ur bitcomet as well

good luck :x

Try using Utorrent. I know you probably like bitcomet, but utorrent works fine on my vista computer.

The only way I can explain how you get kicked off the internet is it does some mass re-configuring (the uPNP stuff) causing a crash. Or it kills your router by overloading it. Don't know how long it will take before it kicks you off. Would be really strange if it was *click*-> disconnected
