Practice with pens/pencils/markers/sharpies.
Practice/learn how to have a steady hand [ if you don't ]

Gear? mhm

What do you mean? I'm assuming spraycans/graffiti markers/paint/paint&spraycan remover?

well, its your creativity. I really don't know if it can be taught?
You can be inspired from a griffiti artist/art ..

I guess you need to know how to draw? mhm
What do you mean by " writting " graffiti?

Edit*
I guess you need to know the knowledge of colors? haha

ah i love street art. i'd say check out some of the street arts on deviant art (there are some really amazing works there)
practice more on paper first (testing out colors, finding your own style, etc.)
start with buying spray paints and work simple art first, practice on large cardboard paper, old wooden boards, whatever you can find. Once you get the hang of it, try it on the wall. Graffiti-ing is quite hard because spray paint is hard to control thats why i totally admire/respect graffiti artists.

Im not way too familiar with how people do straight lines and stuff cause the paint spreads. I've seen people use some kind of square material to draw lines

basically all you need is spray paint and stuff to practice on

i have a lot of friend who are/were taggers and their supply is crazy tons of cans and different sized tips very important to get your lines the size you want. but to start off you should just work with pens and paper and from there go on to bigger surfaces then experiments with paints and different styles. and if you are planning to do walls and stuff like that a face mask goes a long way, unless you wanna get high off fumes.
