Hey, I just wondering if it is a good idea to take the same professor twice.

This past semester, I took a lit. theory course from him and I got an A in his class.

He's teaching a class that I need for my requirement this upcoming semester, and I was wondering if
it is a good idea to take him again.

I'm just afraid that he might think that I think that his class is easy and if I take it again, I will get another A.
Therefore, he will give me a harder time and grade my papers harder in this upcoming semester if I take it again.
(Does that make any sense?)

So based on your own experiences, should I take the same professor again?

I don' tsee why not. If he's easy, take him again. That's what most people do in college. Better than taking an unfamiliar professor who grades hard.

take it with him again, since u already know his teaching style and what he expects from you
u may even bond and get some networking done who knows

Like the others were saying, I would definitely take him again since knowing his teaching style is a plus. Also, when you got an A with him the first time, was it a huge class? If yes, I doubt he even remembers who you are..

does ur prof grade ur paper?or do u have a reader or a ta that grades ur paper?because if it's a ta or reader that grades maybe it can affect u since ur prof might have a different ta/reader for the class that u might be taking...

but i know for sure that he grades them.
he knows me well too..

i don't know if that makes a difference.

I would take him again. You need the course, and he's the one who's teaching it. Nothing wrong with that.

It's good to take more than one class with a professor - if you can get to a point where he knows and likes your academic performance, and is able to remember you by graduation time, that's a professor you will want to use as a reference when applying for your first job (or for graduate school if you go that route).

i'd rather take a teacher im comfortable with and know his style than take a new teacher im not familiar with.
i use ratemyprofessors.com and if they say a teacher is bad, they really mean it lol, if hes good, i'd go with him

you said it is your requirement class right???so its mean that you must take his/her class
but if it about either it is good or not,by my experience it definately good
My lecturer for my polymer class i'm taking right now is already teach me for heat transfer.
Of course she not helping me with my marks since she not bias to anyone(she too strict ) but because i know how the way she is teaching and i can take her leacture comfortabaly, so i can know where is the important point and what will came out in the exam.

That's what i'm doing this qtr. I'm taking my math requirement course with the same teacher i had for last qtr and it's so much easier.
I'm more used to her style and homework assignments.. ^^ It's just easier and more comfortable like that. =DD.... and shouldn't they feel flattered that their students are taking them again??

take it if you feel comfortable. I took the same professor for two classes and although there were different TA's, I felt that I understood what he was looking for. Obviously if you got an A for your last course, you are a good student in his mind and unless you give him a reason to think you're taking advantage of him, I'm sure he won't make your life harder. My profs. feel happy when students take them again, it makes them feel like they're doing something right.
