I was so anxious and excited to use Video on my Ipod Video when I first got it, excited to use Album Art and to pimp it out and just mod the crap out of my Ipod when I got it. Believe it or not, that lasted 1 month. After that month, I just didn't really care for Pictures/Videos, and all those features. I just wanted to listen to music. Then come along friends of mine that tried to make my jealous by buying up the new ipods and showing off all the videos that they had on their Ipods. Guess what? After a few weeks I noticed that they deleted all their videos and filled it up with music. And to this day, after 4 months, they haven't put a single video on their Ipod.
Now I'm not saying ALL users that own Ipod Touches chuck away the new features such as Wi-Fi. But I've come to realize that, when I'm at school, I would use my Ipod for music. When I need the internet, I run to the library to use it. And when I'm at home, I use my computer.

Apple Ipod/Ipod company creat "new" stuff to get more ipod owners..
almost like each and every year they creates a new one..
i bet this year they will have those kind of new items coming out..
it could be something MORE advanced than a Ipod touch...
it could be something else..
i used to have a ipod nano,
but i gave it up and got a iriver clix..
after few years, Ipod touch won't be too "special"

well, people always buy electronics knowing that theres eventually going to be a better version the following year, but thats besides the point.
and as one person said, whether you should get a touch or not is probably dependent on your wants/needs. id be lying if i said the ipod touch makes a practical mp3 player, cuz its not. but the nice, large touch screen makes it handy for web browsing, video viewing (if you're willing to convert your files from formatX to .mp4). personally, i like using it for school...checking my email, going through some of my assignments during class, etc. so its handy

and the big screen is a plus
it's true that after awhile it's not as OMG as b4
and i mean u dont' rly get wifi.. in certain places
u kind of "Steal" it from others.. unless i just dont' noe how to get
wifi haha but i mean formating videos to mp4 isnt' that big of a pain esp since u can do other things while it loads
i luv it a lot and it's fun to use plus u just feel cool.. haha or maybe i'm just weird and i do..
i originally wanted a mp3 that no one has
and still do but the ipod touch is fun and nice plus it holds a good amount of songs at least for me
i mean i fit in all my songs which i guess isn't that much but i do have over 1000 songs plus i also have 45 mvs plus ur nvr gonna listen 2 all the songs on ur ipod so once u get tired of the ones u have onn their switch hehe
hope i was of some help

If you want to get it just because of the wifi, then I don't think you should get it. Think about it more.

I must admit that it's pretty cool, but eventually this touch thing is bound to get annoying. I'm thinking about jailbeaking it soon, when I find the time to. I use the wi-fi since I have a router and my connection is pretty good. also the large screen for viewing videos is a plus. That's why I decided to get the touch I over the classic.
Another thing is the iPod kinda gets hot if you're on the Internet. I'm still kinda getting used to everything. I thought I wouldn't use the youtube feature, but it's actually kinda nifty. The touch to me is like a mini computer, it has my music video, Internet, pictures and anything else I would need (except maybe the space).
This thing is pretty cool. Sometimes my fat fingers make typing on here hard, but it has the spellcheck function that usually catches my mistakes.
So I'd you're looking for something that will fill your Internet, music, video and other needs, then it's a great choice.

I didn't get the $20 thing, I wouldn't really need it, and why buy it when I can jailbreak it for free? :]
I'm going to jailbreak it.... sooner or later

before, when it first came out, i told myself, man, i would never consider buying it, cuz its so expensive! but spending a lot on the ipod touch, and seeing how good it is, i thought...well, a little more $ would get me an iphone...
aha, i suppose consider all the options.

I got it as a gift. It's pretty useful since it has wi-fi :]
But then again, knowing apple, they'll probably come up with something even better which makes buy those products?
Idk, it's really up to you. But I like the i-touch cause of wi-fi and the big screen<3
