i heard that pro activ works for a little while and then as time passes, your skin adjusts to the formula and it gets used to it so it finds a way to keep pro activ from working. it's time for your friend to try another acne product.

Yeup. It happened to my cousin after about 3 months, and it's beginning to happen to me too. =[
It never really worked that well for me in the first place... I always get the odd pimple and those small bumps.

Ehh this is why Proactiv isn't the only thing I use...
I don't know if it's harmful for my skin or not but I use little bit of this and little bit of that.
(I heard its harmful to keep changing it but my skin doesn't react horribly like others)
Anyway, I switch between Benzoyl Peroxide (Proactiv) and Salicylic Acid (Nu Skin) so I don't let my skin adjust to one
(Don't know if this is good for your skin or not, but I do it anyway

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. It was great the first 2 months, then it just stopped working.
Now I'm back to using St. Ives products and the aspirin mask.

his skin probably got used to the formula, and became "immune" to it.
