It could be a number of reasons including but not exclusive to:
-stress
-hormonal imbalance
-change in environment/day to day procedures
-change in diet/exercise

Yeah, it could be too much stress, not enough food intake, or just your period changing.
Some people naturally have their period about 4 times a year, but anorexic people don't have periods at all.
Sometime around last summer my period changed from the beginning of the month to the end of the month and it freaked the hell out of me for those 3 weeks; when you're still young and just getting used to your period, it can be extremely inconsistent, so don't be too worried.
When in doubt, see a doctor.

yeh that used to happen to me, im not sure what caused it though. i used to get my period like every 2 or 3 months. but now i get it every month. i think it might be because of stress because it happened to me during highschool ><

There are many different reasons that might factor in why you might be experiencing irregular periods.

* Significant weight gain or loss
* Over-exercise
* Poor nutrition (or a diet too high in carbohydrates)
* Smoking
* Drug use
* Caffeine
* Excessive alcohol use (interfering with how the liver metabolizes estrogen and progesterone)
* Eating disorders
* Increased stress
* Polycystic ovarian syndrome/estrogen dominance
* Uterine abnormalities (fibroids/cysts/polyps/endometriosis)
* Hormonal imbalance related to perimenopause
* Medications
* Chemotherapy
* Recent childbirth, miscarriage, or D&C
* Breastfeeding

It's normal for girls to be skipping every so often in their first year or two after their first period.

I didn't have a consistent menstrual cycle for my first 3 years smile.gif I've skipped up to 5 months in a row one time.
My periods still aren't even spaced apart. Sometimes I'll get in in the first week of the month or sometimes I'll get it on the third week.

If the problem persists, go to you doctor. It isn't healthy for girls to be skipping their menstrual cycles too much, especially you've had your menstrual cycle for quite sometime now. They would probably put you on birth control or something similar to force you to have your cycles regularly.

I think they would do this because your testosterone levels might build up? I don't exactly remember what my doctor had said haha.

theres many possibilities as to why you are skipping periods.
it would be best to go to the gynecologist to find out the exact reason.

It also happened to me before because i was too strict with my diet blush.gif ...I didnt get my period for 3 months, then i wen to doctor, and she gave me those hormone pills (is that wat you called) and then I got my period again for 2 months, but...because i'm too stubborn (again!) with my diet, 2 months later without period. but now, since i'm tired forcing my self to lose weight, i started eat normally again, and the period comes normally ....

That's why anorexic people dont get their period.

My friend also said that if you dont have enough fat(lack of fat in your body) like being vegan, you'll also will face problem with menstruation.......(she has experienced it before)..but i dont know is it true or not mellow.gif
a

Try to eat well, and exercise, take supplement also You can try to drink chinese traditional medicine that helps blood circulation.....

Maybe it's irregular
or stress...

Well, that happened to me, too.
