Okay, this sounds totally sick but I think I might have toe nail fungus. I looked up photos and they kind of look like my toenail. Just the beginning stages! Whew! I knew there was something wrong with it but I didn't know that it could be fungus! ):

So I got a couple of questions. Did you ever get toe nail fungus? If so, how did you treat it? Take meds orally, apply cream on toenail, etc. etc. And how long did it take and did your toe nail grow back again? Like I love my feet but this toe nail has got to go or at least be fixed. I'm getting a pedi soon, will the nail salon people still paint your nails if they see that theres fungus on it?

I think I have it..hmm
my toe nails were kinda brown in color and crusty looking..
my mom had me to soak my feet in teatree oil and water and it's slowly turning back to a normal color..

i mom had nail fungus (which is less likely than having toe nail fungus).
btw she had to take pills orally, wear gloves when doing certain things like handling with food or shampooing her hair.
she also had to scrub her nails with some special cream thing.

I have it. I know, it's so nasty but I do. Your questions are the same exact ones that I have.

I went to the doctor a few months ago and he told me that it was fungus under the nail, so he said that I could apply medicine on the nail but since it's under the nail, you can cure it by taking medicine. SIDE EFFECTS of the medicine is that it can damage your liver and a whole other stuff. So if you're weighing the pros and cons-- you can decide. Not only that but the medicine is very expensive... So I decided not to take the medicine because of the side effects. He also said it can go away with time and if it's ugly, put some nail polish on.

I was thinking about getting pedi too but I still don't know if they would do it. Hmm--

My mom had foot fungus
Basically the doctor just
prescribed her some pills
and she was putting some sort of
cream on it daily.

Her toe nail never fell off though O.o

Well, I think you get toe fungus only when you're wearing socks and shoe with very little microscopic pores that allows porper air circulation inside your shoes. I think it's also caused by baterial infection, you know, if your shoe doesn't have proper air circualtion and you have a tendency to not wear slippers at home. Ans always use lotion to moisturize your feet to prevent cracks, because bacteria can get inot those carcks and you'll get fungus. One of the most important thing you can do is to cut your toe nails frequently.

i had it a couple years ago, cuz i play tennis, and my feet get all sweaty in my tennis shoes, and i didn't change my socks since i'd be out on court for a couple of hours. so basically i had athlete's foot, but it was only on my big toes.
i went to a foot doctor, and he gave me some nail polish that would make the fungus grow out, so i could cut it away as my nail grew. it took like a year for it to fullly look back to normal though. i was too young for the pills, so the nail polish was the nxt option

reminds me of a story my coach told me
she works for a salon,
and we giving a guy a nail thingy thingy ... something.. cleaning it ?
and she said his toe nails were LONNG lol
and so she clipped it,
and when she did
these bugs + white ooze started coming out
and she asked him wtheck that is,
and he said 'oh its nothing, just keep clipping'
and she cut another piece of nail,
and more came ! O_O

and while she was talking
the guy is just flicking the stuff off his nail @.@
and the manager told her it was a fungus
and yeah, they had to ask him to leave

Anywhos.. I heard soaking your feet in Listerine mouthwash gets rid of it.
Not sure if it works though.. Never had them. =/
