I personally don't think it's too appealing, but sometimes I'm forced to bring one when I have to carry a lot of stuff. (HEAVY textbooks, laptop, lunch) Does anyone think it's unattractive if a girl wears a backpack?

haha I laugh when I see a girl wearing a backpack AND a purse...i mean you might as well put all that stuff in your backpack if you're going to wear it. I've noticed that at my school, it's common for girls to NOT wear a backpack, they just bring a handbag to fit all their stuff in...and carry their books in their arms so I was just wondering if it's considered "uncool" or unattractive to wear a backpack. Because it's so inconvenient having to lug your books in your arms while all the guys are carrying these big backpacks that can fit everything in there.

no. i dont see anything wrong with wearing a backpack at all. though carrying both a purse and backpack seems like overkill. and at my school maybe 65% still carry back packs myself included. besides wearing a backpack is better for ur posture and back and its much more comfortable.

why would it be weird? I don't get it...college students wear backpacks all over the place..guys or girls.. Even grad students, sometimes even profs use backpacks..

really? I thought this would be common everywhere else since many people like to look 'good' at school lol maybe it's because I go to college in Irvine, California. I guess girls here don't feel "girly" if they wear a backpack...

I don't think it's weird. It's actually really really normal for girls to carry backpacks. At least 90% of the people I know have backpacks. The last 10% carry shoulder bags big enough for books. But then again...maybe so many people carry backpacks because most of us bike all over campus...it's just easier to carry a backpack and bike at the same time. It's hard to imagine a girl carrying her books under her arm (if she has no basket) and a purse under another and still trying to ride a bike. Btw, my school is known as a biking school.

I wish my school was a biking school lol...but then again I wish we had to wear uniforms...it's so much easier and it's really cute!!! well the Korean ones anyway. I guess for college no one wears uniforms anymore

I feel like a turtle carrying my backpack. I don't find it attractive, hell its better than carrying a heavy bag and end up with a sore arm/ uneven shoulders.
Uniforms in college? thats like.. adding on to our tuition which is expensive enough as it is.

Backpacks are #1 for schooling . It's obviously not weird @ all.. I mean,
isn't a backpack for carrying to school?? ...
I have to do it also because biking is way much easier w/ a backpack. =)

what i find "weird" is people who think that they need to dress up to go to class, and who only carry around a small purse and then try to sit next to you and use your book because they "forgot" theirs.

wear a backpack. take your books to school.
university isn't a freaking fashion show, it's your education.

...maybe people in irvine are just...dumb? ...can't think of anything else to call people who would spend thousands of dollars on university, and waste it spending their time trying to look "cute" in class...

i have loads of friends who go to uci (assuming thats the college you go to) and there are some overdressed girls but ive also seen people who go to class in their pajamas...its not bad either way~its a preference...
but i dont judge on whether they have a backpack/purse/manbag/whatever

i wear a backpack...how do i carry my books without it?

Well, my college has uniforms. .__. Anyway, I'm from the Philippines so yeah~

Most of the people in my school doesn't really wear backpacks since we have uniform and its a skirt. '' So it really wouldn't match and like 90%, including me, just carry shoulder bags which are big enough or jst carry their books around. The 10% bring backpacks and I really don't see anything weird or some sort. actually, if I had the chance, I would switch to backpacks because it's more comfortable and easier to carry your things. Especially if you have alot of books and handouts like me. .__.

I see girls all the time with a huge purse 3/5 the size of my backpack. And my god they can carry alot of crap in it.

And you don't necessarily need a backpack all the time. I keep a pen and a highlighter in my pocket, carry a textbook, and a notebook to class but i'm not a female tho.

And I think it's hot when a girl comes to class looking cute and getting an A at the same time. It makes a statement that she can look good and do well at the same time. However, coming to class with pj's is okay, even the nappy hair is okay, but come on take a shower.

lol who cares what i look like... everyone i know carries a backpack. Even my school gave us free backpacks as an incentive to come here. I'm here to learn and graduate. I would much rather wear a backpack then carry my notes/textbooks/stationary around.
