A great guy, from his affection towards his loved ones and being able to keep things real despite fame and all that yadda.

I still can't really compute that someone in the prime of his career can leave in such an untimely manner.
This brings back sad memories of Jon Brandis and River Phoenix.

MICHELLE Williams - the mother of Heath Ledger's only daughter Matilda - is devastated, her eyes and nose red from crying and his Brokeback Mountain co-star Jake Gyllenhaal is set to assume a special role in Matilda's life.

Williams, 27, who fell in love with Heath Ledger while filming Brokeback Mountain but split from him last year, had been filming in Sweden but is jetting back to New York with two-year-old Matilda.

Police are already guarding her home in Brooklyn where she previously lived with Ledger.

Williams' mother and her "Dawson's Creek" co-star Busy Phillips already has arrived in New York to comfort Williams, who yesterday learned of Ledger's death.

Williams was in Trollhattan, Sweden, where the 27-year-old actress had been shooting scenes for the upcoming film "Mammoth," said Martin Stromberg, a spokesman for film production company Memfis Film.

"She received the news at her hotel late last night," Stromberg said.

Both William's mother, Carla, and Phillips looked visibly upset as they got out of a limousine and walked into the house, Splash said.

"It has just broken everybody's heart in my family," Larry Williams, Michelle's dad, told The Daily Telegraph.

"My heart goes out to everyone, his family, my family, we are just very saddened. The saddest thing is his daughter, whom he just loved dearly."

PageSix.com reports that now that two-year-old Matilda is left to grow up without her doting father, the responsibility to keep Heath Ledger's memory alive falls partly on her famous godfather, Jake Gyllenhaal.

Jake, Heath and Matilda's mom Michelle Williams, bonded on the set of their Academy Award-winning hit Brokeback Mountain, for which they all received Oscar nominations.

"Heath and I are best friends now making the film was very intense for us," said Jake, 27, who played Heath's sheep-herding love interest in the Blockbuster hit. He described being Matilda's godfather as "an amazing honor."

"I remember being in rehearsal, and the two of them had googly eyes with each other," he has said of the romance between Matilda's parents.

There are already concerns about how Matilda, at such a young age, will be affected by the passing of her father.

Heath Ledger lavished gifts on his only child. He regularly brought Matilda to the high-end SoHo store Calypso Kids where he spoiled the little tyke, buying her life-size stuffed animals and anything she wanted, especially ice cream, a saleswoman told the New York Post.

Despite her unimaginable loss, Matilda should expect to have an extended family in the Gyllenhaals.

Jake's sister, Maggie, befriended Ledger during the filming of their upcoming Batman sequel The Dark Knight. Maggie, 30, and Peter Saarsgard, whose daughter, Ramona, is one year younger than Matilda, also own a Brooklyn brownstone nine blocks away - a mere five minutes on foot from the Hoyt Street townhouse Heath and Michelle formerly shared.

Meanwhile, at 3 am New York time Matilda's godmother Busy Philipps, who Michelle befriended on the set of Dawson's Creek, arrived at her home in anticipation of Matilda and her mother's return from Sweden.

While information about Heath's will is still unclear, Matilda stands to inherit millions. He was paid well over $3 million per role.

Five Different Drugs Found in Heath's Apartment

TMZ has learned what types of pills were discovered in the apartment where Heath Ledger was found dead.
NYPD sources tell TMZ that nearly full pill bottles containing the anti-anxiety medications Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium), Lorazepam (Ativan) were found in the apartment. The sleeping medication Zoplicone (Lunesta) and the sedative Temazepam (Restoril) -- which is used by people with "debilitating insomnia" -- were also found.
All of the drugs were prescribed to Ledger.

today i told my friend about his death and she cried. everytime i look at his pictures i think i'm going to start tearing up.

i just found out that westboro baptist church is planning on picketting heath's funeral in the states. if they do, i'm going to be so furious.

I loved that from "10 Things I Hate About You."

I'm seriously heartbroken for Heath's family (I hope someone can post up pictures of Heath and Matilda as well) and for himself. He was an incredible actor who wasn't afraid to take on diverse roles (he didn't choose just ANY role), which was why I became (and still am no matter what) his fan. And according to Terry Gilliam, Heath Ledger was going to direct a film too - I bet he would also have been amazing at that too. My favorite actors - James Dean, Sergei Bodrov Jr., and now Heath Ledger... I'm really devastated...

Heath Ledger is infinitely an unforgettable actor.
