I'm planning to get this car pretty soon but I don't know much about it so I have several questions. It'll be great if somebody owns one and could give me your feedback about it. Sorry if this kind of thread isn't aloud, I read the rules and didn't see anything against this so yeah.

- Does it only come in manual transmission? I don't know how to drive manual cars..
- Does this car use up a lot of gas?
- How's the handling of this car?
- Are there any problems with this car? (Things that you have to fix, bugs, etc.)

If there's anything else you feel that I should know about this car, please let me know. Any opinions or comments about this car would be greatly appreciated! I don't want to make a wrong purchase and end up with problems. -____-" Thanks!

i was REALLY REALLY close on getting the same car myself.

buuut, I decided to hold off and wait 1-2 years before they fixed out the kinks, due to it being the first year on the new model.

buuut, I got impatient and decided to go out and buy a different car.

gas mileage is pretty terrible. worse than an RX-8 (which says alot)! it comes 6spd or auto/6spd hybrid. (it's basically an automatic, but you have the option to go "manual" when your feeling frisky or climbing a hill) go check out the reviews (cars.com, edmunds.com, etc) There weren't any Audi TT '08 forums up when I was interested in them a couple months ago, but they might have them now.

hm.... the more I read about this car, the more I feel better holding off on getting it. I do however, dig the exterior design. Audi came a long way.

^ where are you getting your mileage numbers from? huh.gif
Sounded fishy to me so I did a quick search.. TT: 18 mpg City / 24 mpg Hwy. RX-8: 16 mpg City / 23 mpg Hwy mellow.gif

I quite like how the new TT looks, much better than the previous model. I wouldn't worry so much about handling, it'll be fine for 99.99% of driving I reckon. Unless you track or something. And rest assured, it comes in automatic. This seems to be a common misconception for some people. Cars that comes out in only manual = less revenue for the automakers
Almost every car for the regular consumer nowadays will have an automatic option

RX-8: EPA Fuel Economy:
City: 18 Highway: 24 – 25

TT: EPA Fuel Economy:
City: 17 – 23 Highway: 24 – 31

i was going to say something like, "see? i told you," and be a "Richard" (<-- funny that it's censored) about it, then i realized: i must be blind... even after i c/p the numbers.

but the mileage still sucks ass.

Well RX-8 is a Rotary and it does eat a lot more gas then Normal Piston Engines.

I don't want a Lexus or Acura anymore considering I drove those before. I drove my mom's Lexus when practice driving for my N. My first car was a TSX then I sold it for a TL so I'm pretty much getting bored of Acura cars. -____-"

According to official mazda site the numbers on the AT are 16/23

^ Heh, thanks! smile.gif

Oh yeah, do you guys know when the prices of cars usually drop?

The most pissing thing happened last year when I purchased my Acura TL. I got it for around 49 grand (because of all the stuff I picked) and then two weeks later, my friend gets the car with the same stuff I picked for about $3000 cheaper. T_T

The prices of cars might drop when the model is due for a change. Since the TT is pretty new, I wouldn't hold my breath for a price drop. My advice, if you want it, then go for it.
Some believe in end of month sales or seasonal sales so you might wanna check those out.
I did a quick search and came up with just a couple links:

Just curious what color TL did you have? I'm a TL owner myself smile.gif

49 grand for a tl? wow... if you are looking to spend that much on an audi, your money would be better spent on a mercedes or bmw (more quality per dollar in my opinion). the 4 years that i had my a4 were some of the worst i have ever had...

again, if you truly are set on getting this car - please, please, please get the best and longest warranty they offer. =)
