i absolutely love it!!!
the double exposures are amazing.
i can only get film in black and white.
where do you guys get your coloured 120mm film.
woo can you post some of them up? ^^ there's not many black & white lomos going around in this thread haha
I get my coloured film at like this big camera superstore in the city or at the Lomography shop.. [I live in Sydney]. but there should be a big camera store in Toronto like it right? good luck!!

Stupid me. What was I thinking haha.
oh my goodness, lomography here i come haha.
... but first, i have a few questions.
So what is all this about the Diana not having a shutter sound and no number dial showing how much film is used/left?
So... does the Holga make a shutter noise and have the number dial?
I have a memory of a smart goldfish LOL ;; So no number dials is definately not going to work for me ^^;;
as for the film.
35mm film is basically regular film.........? omfg i am such a noob to film photography. :x
help! haha.
As for developing, I love the 120 mm square pictures.......... but I'm short on money for the time being (i'll prolly invest in this after I really get a good hand on lomography)... so the 35mm is better...? and are there only certain places that will develop it????
Sorry. I probably sound super dumb haha

hmm, about the questions... i don't really know what you mean by shutter sound. i mean like, the diana F+ has this protruding thing near the lens instead of like the normal shutter release button found on top of some cameras like the vivitar ultra wide and slim. and there's some sort of a 'sound' when u push down the shutter release button for the diana F+ [which is that protruding thing]. and there is the number count for the number of exposures you have used, for diana+ and diana F+. unless you were talking about the original diana...? LOL, i'm so sorry if i'm not of any help!
for the holga, i'm not very sure about that though, because i don't own one. but perhaps u can try searching for stuff online through the lomography website... or even just go to youtube and find some actual video tutorials done by people!
hmm, i don't know if 35mm film is called regular film...? but it's more common and easily available i think...? 120 film is called medium format.
and the last question about developing... i guess it depends on your own preferences. i like 120 film because of the square format, so i'm using 120 film now. and sometimes i wanna use the 35mm film just because it's more economical. haha. because developing and scanning 35mm film pictures are cheaper if i'm not wrong. so i guess it depends? places which develop it... i really don't know that. unless you are in singapore? then i probably can give you a whole list with the price comparison list. haha.
haha, don't worry. just ask any questions! i'm sure everyone will help you out if they know! i was exactly like you when i first found out stuff about lomography!
on a side note... I HAVE THE DIANA+/DIANA F+ INSTANT BACK! YAY! CAN'T WAIT TO USE IT!

Taking photography class and it's great. Developed three rolls of negatives and about to develop two today
I love lomography and photography in general!!
:]
For the holga does it run on batteties and have a light meter and more shutter speed options?
If not, which lomo camera has a light meter amd more shutter speed options?
Can the holga ONLY take 400 speed film? Or can we use 100 and etc?
Sorry for the lomg postand so many questions. Thank you!!!

but I saw the fisheye lenses the lomo site had, and think I might get that instead.
but a question: for the Holga 35mm, is the only fisheye lens that would work with it the fisheye adaptor?
I saw another regular fisheye lens, but I wasn't sure if it would work with the 35mm, or if it was just for the 120..

strawberry.llamas: batteries and light meter... hmm, i don't know about that. shutter speed options... does it mean like the normal and bulb mode? the holga does have that.
ch0sshi: haha yeah, fisheye2 looks cool and fun! but i would prefer to get other lomo cameras and then get the accessories [like the fisheye lens]. for holga 135, i think there's a fisheye 135 fisheye adaptor? same goes for fisheye 120 fisheye adaptor? i think you should get the fisheye 135 adaptor... but i'm not very sure about the various holga accessories though, so i might be wrong. haha.

haha yeah it's what people refer to as "regular". you can use it with whatever lomo takes 35mm... diana can only take 35mm if u have the 35mm back accessory.. pretty sure fisheye n holga 135 take 35mm =]

you can use 400 and 100 .. though 400 is good for general use. holga does not have batteries as its run by project the picture in a kinda box way o.o lols

I'm really leaning toward the Diana... Does anyone have the Super-Wide lens? I think I might get the Diana, the Super-Wide lens, and the 35mm back... It just seems like it'd be annoying to be out of the country and not be able to use standard 35mm film?

oh ya! diana F+ has got more accessories. like the fisheye lens, closeup lens, telephoto lens, wide-angle or super wide-angle lens. the flash adaptor will be given together as well if you get the diana F+ [i think... coz i had that], and the adaptor helps when u have other flashes/flashs such as the coloursplash. so you are not just limited to using the diana flash. i like the diana flash though. i know the holga has got fisheye lens and the 35mm back... and the polaroid backing as well. diana F+ has got those and recently they just released this new instant back which can be used together with the functions of the diana F+ [like fisheye, etc... so i guess it's better than the instax mini camera itself in this sense]. the difference between the holga polaroid back and the instant back is the film used. instant back for diana+ uses fuji instax mini film [size of credit cards], and for holga, well i don't know the size for sure, but it should be the normal polaroid film...? i think the polaroid film's currently not in production anymore but i think there's this project set up by some people to sort of continue the production. i'm not sure when the film will finally continue production though. but fuji instax mini is currently in production... and the price of it is cheaper than polaroid i think.
eh, another difference would be the prices. i think the diana F+ cost more... the accessories too. only the instant back cost less than the polaroid backing for the holga i think, from what i saw from the online shop i got my instant back from. and i like the diana F+ because of its design(s). loads to choose from. of course the holga has got different designs too, but i still like the diana F+ more. and i decided not to get holga 135 because i wanted to use 120 film too. of course, the holga 120 uses the 120 film too, but still, designs designs designs. haha.
more information here: lomotion (singapore) forum. you will need an account though, if you are gonna post stuff. if not i think you don't have to have an account...? http://lomotion.20.forumer.com/index.php to know more about issues of the holga and diana F+, go to the "toy cameras" section. of course you can just search using the search option to find pictures and stuff to compare between the holga and diana cams. or go flickr to compare pictures too. have you tried the lomography website to compare the stuff and all? it would be good to go there too.
dang, i need some proper structure in my reply. i hope you won't get mixed up though. LOL.

Yeah, I've been sitting on the idea of buying a lomo camera since middle school (I'm in college now, haha... Slow to commit). I guess I've just never been spurred on to actually BUY it until now, with the trip coming up. I'm going to Korea so I want to take some crazy photos
I think you've pretty much convinced me to get the Diana, haha. It seems very versatile, and like you said, the leakages happen often, which I like. And, of course, the accessories are awesome.
Thank you thank you! It wasn't confusing at all. VERY helpful!!
