WANT A HOLGA NAO.
i think to start off for beginner lomographers, a holga will do just fine biggrin.gif then you can get Diana + next.
HURRAY FOR THIS THREAD.

is anyone using a Polaroid now? I am using a Lightmixer 630SL but the problem with films is making me mad. Apparently, Polaroid is closing down its factories and by 2 years time, NO MORE POLAROID FILMS. OWUEIWDGHSHD.

Theres some speculation recently about Fuji's plan to buy over the patent from Polaroid. So all hope is not lost yet. Other than that, just buy quickly! I will probably get a bunch of double-packs so they can last me for a long time, or at least save me some money before the price goes up.

I use a Polaroid SLR 680 and it's a nice camera from the 80's. That sucks that they're going to stop making the film - now we'll have to deal with individual sellers who make the film privately and charge an arm and a leg dry.gif I sure hope Fuji makes Polaroid films after Polaroid's gone... By the way you can't just buy up a whole bunch of film because they all have expiration dates (unless you use all the film before the expiration date +_+)...

actually if the film goes expired, the quality won't change much until maybe say 5 months past the date, and it turns yellowish but when the chemicals in it starts to dry up real bad, the film will be as good as junk. and we can always store the polaroid films in refridgerators to prolong their imminent death biggrin.gif

AHHHHH!!!! I SEE LOMO PEOPLE TOO!!!!
i've been trying to bid a supersampler off ebay, because its way cheaper there.
but everyone's killing themselves over it. im thinking of a guerilla bid
at the very last minute ph34r.gif any competitors on soompi O_O...T__T
prease say no pfft. though the prices which the bid starts at are unimaginable (9.99)
as compared to the usual prices @ lomo shops. can someone explain why?
well, besides the fact that some bid for their own stuff to increase the price.

I bought the Holga Fisheye Set over the summer but haven't had time to play around with it. I couldn't decide if I wanted the Holga itself or the Fisheye so I got it as a combo smile.gif If I had the money, I would definitely spend it on the Horizon Perfekt and the Polaroid Spectra Camera.

^ rrawrr.... i just saw the polaroid spectra in the lomo shop and i was like O.O HOLY CRAP. MUST GET.
and then i saw something.. it said "camera can not be folded"....
sigh.
oh oh oh.. and and and i just saw that they are selling expired film in the lomo shop here in HK.
I AM SO GOING THERE OVER THE WEEKEND.

god. i can't wait.

best thing to do is subscribe to their newsletter. haha
they really do keep you up to date. and you always know about new products!

for example.. when you've just bought a Diana+, they send you a newsletter telling you they've released the Diana F+.......................... o_o
they just keep popping these cameras out of nowhere.. and take my wallet with them.

haha

i'm going to japan soon.. so i can buy a ton of film biggrin.gif <333333

this is for all items on ebay.

the sellers know that their items will definitely be bidded up to above its starting price and in the case of these popular cameras, will be around market or above market price. they set it low because the higher you set your starting bid, the higher the fees that you get charged for listing your items on ebay.

I got a HOLGA for Christmas, I've taken pictures with it. I have about 7 rolls of undeveloped film and i have yet to see what my Holga is capable of. The only bad thing is that the medium 120 film is not so popular now that they had to ship 1 roll of film to california to develop. takes about a week. yay. It's cool though from the pictures I've seen it should be well worth it..ill just go wait patiently now

I've been planing on geting an lomo lc-a for a while now but I don't know if it's worth it.. it would cost me 250 euro if I order it from their official online shop and I'm happy with the analog camera (canon ftb) that I use now..

^ if you shoot a lot of film... DEFINITELY YES.
that's why people always look on ebay to see if others are selling film cheaper.. and tons of other people go search for shops with cheap film.

i just got myself 5 rolls of expired Velvia 100F from the Lomo Shop! - had to buy 10 rolls so i split with a friend - w00t w00t.
must try soon biggrin.gif but I'm wondering if I should wait a bit longer for more effects HAHA (they expired 2007/07)
it cost 20HKD a roll, around 2.6 USD. yay

My Fisheye is collecting dust dry.gif

By the way, I always hear my friends saying this.. they get bad results on their first rolls of Holga/Diana and immediately, get disappointed and stop using them!
I'd say, practice makes perfect so never give up!! Seriously, when you finally see a VERY nice shot, you'll get amazed and proud of yourself smile.gif

hello! happy.gif

i knew what lomography was but i was never into it
and i really want a holga for my birthday haha

but can some one please tell me what's the difference between the expired and non expired??
and between slide and...non-slide? haha tongue.gif
i know that 35mm is smaller and look is not that great compared to 120mm
but could how could i use 35mm film on a holga that uses 120mm?

sorry i'm a major noob sweatingbullets.gif

thank you!! ^^v

::edit::
after an intense researching, slide photos you can use c-41 or cross processing
u can use a 35mm adapter but still not sure if its worth it?
still don't know what is different from expired and non expired? Different images? o.O?

I'm not sure if it was already covered in this topic but is there really a difference on how pictures come out depending if you use 35mm or 120mm film?
I wanna get the Holga and possibly get the 35mm film adapter.
Blah, I've never been a big fan of film photography but this sure sounds interesting (= Ima noob

expired and non-expired.
non-expired = the regular outcomes of normal film biggrin.gif
expired = you may get different "artifacts" showing up or other effects.. you never really know what will happen to your photos because expired film (and we're talking about REALLY expired film.. not just a few months) can get really degenerated. you may get super high contrast or super low contrast. or none whatsoever. sometimes, nothing even comes up.. so it's all about experimenting.

(suju fan!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif ) hehe
have you developed the roll of film?
or does it just "feel" like its not taking any pictures..
because i got the same comment from a friend who's new to the Diana.. and she kept on firing the shot..
technically, when you pull that trigger thingy on the diana and let light go in.. you've taken the picture. it won't make any sound like regular cameras.
so after taking the picture, you advance to the next film.. make sure you keep track of if the frame has been exposed already or not.. because on the next time you take out your diana, you'll find yourself wondering whether theres a picture already (and have to advance the film) or not...
it happens to me everytime -.-

and about the frame masks
you get one 16-shot frame mask for 4.2 x 4.2 images (like the original Diana)
you get another one for a panoramic image with no gap in between.. 4.6 x 4.6 cm
no - you don't have to have the insert masks.. just as long as you slide the tab on the lid to cover 16 (so only 12 shows)

not sure why you don't have them though

35mm - rectangular shaped (like all the other photos out there)
120mm - square shaped

welcome to the world of film photography <333

okay. this is kind of off topic.
but why are we moved over to the digital cameras?
lomography is FAR from being digital..

ah .... sad.gif

anyhow.. i just shot a bunch of diana+ photos in tokyo and got them developed..
LOL

i've got a few that have double and even TRIPLE exposure.. sigh. i really need to (somehow) keep track of the shots..

i'll share some when i have time to scan them -.-

edit.. since i think we should all share our photos... (because a thread without pictures is kinda.. boring)

sharing some of my LCA+s

biggrin.gif -- all slide film except for the one of my shoe.

YOU GUYS SHARE YOURS TOO!!!!! hehe

V aw thanks I'm a Candy Bar

my parents don't really appreciate my photography sad.gif so it means a lot!
