I'm not a avid Country music fan, but when I suddenly heard one of Taylor Swift's song recently I was.. totally enjoying it.
Anyone has any nice country songs to share?

For me I like Taylor Swift's Teardrops on My Guitar and Our Song..
(She didn't have much songs though)

Oh, man...I'm from WV and this is practically our theme song (after John Denver's "Country Roads", of course). I think everyone here knows this song inside and out.

I'm not a huge country fan, but I do like the Dixie Chicks ("Favorite Year", "Cowboy, Take Me Away", "Truth No.2", etc) and Martina McBride (been listening to "Independence Day" a lot).

I don't like Country music now, but my mom listened to it a LOT when I was little. I still like the occasional Garth Brooks. Most of the stuff my mom listened to was OLD school though -- and I stand firm in saying that Waylon Jennings has one of the best voices ever recorded. And she's more country-folk (+ Bluegrass?), but I LOVE Emmylou Harris. And on the same note Nanci Griffith is awesome.

But the closest I get to country in my usual music listenings is early 50s rock. Elvis and the Everly Brothers have a definite country-tinged sound. Which sounds lovely mixed with the jazz-blues rooted rock. <3

But, yeah. Favorite song has to be Emmylou Harris's "Pancho and Lefty". Fantastic song.

Anything by Brad Paisley. He sometimes has a more traditional sound than most mainstream country artists but he's pretty diverse. I can't really pick a favorite song because I like everything he's done, but right now I'm liking "American Saturday Night" from his new album. But other popular songs are She's Everything, Letter To Me, Ticks, Online, I'm Still a Guy, Waiting on a Woman, Whiskey Lullaby, etc.

I also really like Texas country...

Ooh, your post just reminded me of the horrible pop version of "Love Story"...dunno why though =/ Some of her songs sound good as pop versions, like "Teardrops on My Guitar", yet others don't.
