Alrighty so my sister's friend's mom and my mom were talking about food, and my sister's friend's mom said how apples were bad to eat after 2.

Apparently if you eat an apple after 2, it won't get digested very well and the nutrients would get nullified because most people eat around 4-7ish, and then the apple would just sit there and get dumped out without all the nurients absorbed because it takes a while to digest it.


Do your parents/anyone you know ever tell you things like these? ;_; It just pissed me off hearing this cause I love eatting fruit after 5

i don't really believe that stuff so yeah i just eat whenever i'm hungry

i always eat around 10-12midnight, and its like 2 cups of milk with bread or pb&j
so does that mean all that i ate is just gonna go into my poo? lol...

lol i've never heard of that. I've just heard not to eat after 6 coz it makes you fat.
But yeh I normally eat fruits after 6 when i get hungry.

I'm new here and this will be my first post. I absolutely had to post about this...I'm a personal trainer, have been a bit now and also studied nutrition and I'm also involved with a lot of bodybuilding forums and such...and I can honestly tell you that eating any type of food you choose at any given time will not affect weight gain anymore than the food itself can. Time is not a factor...IF and ONLY if you don't allow your body sufficient time to metabolize the food will it turn to fat. So let's say you eat that apple at 7 pm, don't go to bed until 8. If you wanna get to bed earlier, walk around the house for a good 10 minutes. The more your body is in motion, the higher your metabolic rate is, and the higher your metabolic rate is, more nutrients and glycemic (that's a whole different story) cells get used up. So eat away at those fruits if need be!~

Just don't go to bed right after.

If you want professional research references done on this, ask me and I'll track em down for ya.

I've never heard of that before. I eat apples all the time lol. They're supposed to be good for you. I think you're not supposed ot eat 4-5 hours before you sleep. or after 8, which ever comes first.

When I first started taking Yoga, my teacher taught the class about fitness first. She told us you can anything at any time of day but do not eat 3 hours before you sleep. I think it could be less than 3 hours for some people depending on their metabolism though. Eating an apple doesn't make you fat though... It gives you nutrition. There's no trans or sat fat in an apple.... is there? o.O
That's what I was taught at least.

yeh i knw parents always there tell kids that different to different families lol
well i heard that if u eat after 7 u will gain wait cos food still digesting and then couple hours if u do intend to eat and slp .. you knw the outcome

My parents never tell me these things. I learn them pretty much from the internet or my friends. For me, I think that after midnight eating is bad. I don't know why, but I usually eat dinner around 10 or 11 pm because I either get out of work late, or I have extra class to attend. smile.gif

i read that if you take in too much food at once, your body will store the excess energy if you don't spend it within a certain amount of time (several hours maybe?)

i dont know the detailed aspects of how the body produces energy from food and when it decides to store some of that energy as fat, but maybe you can shed some light on the topic? i'd like to know

I think it sounds foolish..
My oppinion is that it is normal not to eat right before you go to sleep - so if you're going to sleep at 9 pm, then don't eat anything after 8 pm (or 7 pm to be sure that the food is digested and that you won't have all that energy stored in your body while you're sleeping, so you won't put on weight in that way).
So maybe someone thought it would be fun to make up some rules that you shouldn't eat "those things" when it's "that time" and stuff like that.. Just to see if people believes in it or not..
I don't see the reason why not to eat an apple after 2.. dry.gif it's not like you'll die of it or something.. (unless you choke on it, or it's poisoned.. LOL~)
But this is just what I think. blush.gif

There was something on Discovery channel about this. I forgot, tho.

It says something about food getting converted to fat when eaten at times when the body is supposed to be asleep, and the body producing less fat when consuming food at times when the body is awake.


Something about the body clock.

Same here and not just my mom I even heard that on Oprah so I follow it. tongue.gif
Other then that I have set times when I eat 8 AM, 12-1 PM, and 4 PM.
And I've eaten apples at all of those times and I don't think it's done me any harm.
So I just simply don't believe that apple thing unless I hear it from a nutritionist or Oprah. tongue.gif

i dunno why anymore, but i did hear from alot of people and shows to stop eating by then.

eating before sleeping will not make you fat


and bad eating an apple..??

apple=fruit=healthy

a stomach works works works always when there's food

obesity has to do with your eating habbit and physical activity and not the timing of eating
