I accidently missed an important 2-hour lecture for one of my history classes, and I'm really starting to hyperventilate here. What do you guys do when you miss class? I'm getting notes from someone, but it's so hard to trust notes when they aren't yours. I'm so afraid something will be missing in her notes.

I would go into my professor's office hours, but she's really not friendly. She's the only professor I've had so far who doesn't like to help her students, jeeze. Usually, professors are usually so excited to discuss things.. Grr~

Anyone else feel SO NERVOUS when they miss class? I mean, it is different from missing classes in high school

Crud. .__. I did that one time on my Lit and Bio class! X__X GAAH! It was so nerve-wracking! I was SO lost in the next meeting. lol

Anyway, I got over it for like 3 hours or so. :/ But yeah, I feel you. I hate it when I miss class, especially when I don't intend to.

^ Lol, noo, this is another history class hahaha~! As you can see, I am having a bit of trouble in school these days. I forgot to set my alarm, and I slept through class, sad huh? Basically, history classes at my school are profs rambling on and on and on for hours without any powerpoint or anything. So I'm kind of screwed, but I do have notes from a friend. I have a better idea about how to do my research paper for my other class though, thanks again~!!

Yes, I agree with the person who said reading another person's notes is like trying to decipher a code, lol! smile.gif

calm down Happy_Day.
dont hypervenilate for the past,
when you can breathe easy for the future.

okay.
first, you've already missed the class.
that is that.
okay. settled.

beggars may not be choser.
you weren't there to take the notes,
the best bet you have are the notes that you are lending.
if you were there, you wouldnt have to borrow notes,
and then feel hesitant to trust them, right???

okay.
just dont miss class anymore.
see? heehhehehe.

im not trying to give you a hard time,
you'll survive. im sure you're smart,
and you'll learn from this experience.

why did you miss class?? overslept, huh?
need me to give you a wake up call next time? i can. ehehhee. tongue.gif

when, IF, i miss class,
i just take notes from a friend.
or read what i missed.
yah. im boring.

okay. GOOD LUCK babe.
you'll be fine. i promise.
positive thinking will ease your mind.
hey, at least you didn't forget you missed the class, right? tongue.gif
take care.

wow u guys are freaks.... i ditch a class if i don't feel like going

hs and college are completely different, yeah u'll miss some material but near to all of everything the prof says in lecture he gets directly from the textbook so it's easy enough to cram night before a midterm from the textbook.

i could never take good notes, i just write whatever's on the powerpoint... if there is one

^ Lol problem is, this class is an upper-level history class.. And she doesn't have a FREAKING TEXTBOOK!! Everything she gives us to read are primary sources that just back up her lectures. Grr~

get notes from more than one person
and compare them both.

if you are extra nervous on top of that you can go to your professors office hours and talk to her. (who cares if shes unfriendly!)

If the professor isn't nice, try anyway or go to the course coordinator.
Get a few people's notes and good luck with the deciphering! ><

honestly, its ok to miss a class or two every now and then, and im sure you can catch up on time. its a good thing you stress out as hard as you do about it though. i dont worry as much and sometimes i ended up skipping too often my freshmen year... which didnt work out too well. bottom line: its ok to miss class seldomly but try to go to every one. accidentally skipping one class in a semester wouldnt make much of a difference imo. as long as you there on important days. i have a friend who stayed up all night to study for an exam.. and slept in the next day LOL. just avoid that kinda thing.

^ omg that sucks. i can't believe u missed it for savings time!
i think labs for sciences and math type subjects are the only things u hafta really worry bout missing classes for.

i used to skip classes or only go for half a class and i did just fine in my classes for business/general studies.
depends how well u listen in class..if the prof's dull, i tune out so that's the equivalent of missing class anyways!

i hate when profs give useless notes!! and make u use a textbook that they don't pull notes out of!

QFT -> Lectures are there to not teach you, but to reinforce & confirm what you extrapolated from the reading material. Read your book and take your own notes and you should be fine.
