My underarms are always so dark even after I shave. It always look like it is still so dirty. I know some marks are the circles where the hair grows (can't think of the word right now). It didn't bother me much since I didn't have to show my armpits much. But in a few weeks I am bound to wear a dress and need to get that underarm looking fresh asap. Any suggestions? Thanks

well i don't know if you can do this since it's soon for you. But ever since I started getting cold weather I've been covering up that area with long sleeves/sweaters. And so I haven't bothered to shave for like a month until I had to. Anyway I noticed that it looked really nice and clean after not shaving for awhile. I think that is the reason why it didn't look so dark. I used a regular razor and creme to shave, so I don't think it's those factors. But I suppose this wouldn't work out well for summer.

so yah, you might find it gross for not shaving regularly. But my rule is shave only if there's a chance it's going to be exposed laugh.gif I do shave more often in the summer though...just in case anyone was wondering!!!! tongue.gif

You shouldn't shave your underarms; that's why it's so dark. Shaving makes the area darker, like guys with their mustaches/beards. I recommend waxing or plucking (like me...I have so little hair).
To freshen it up? As in...make it less dark? I don't know if that's possible..o_0

i know .. seriously hate it .. lol .. i really have no idea hoe to whiten them either
but my mom also says that shaving is the reason for this .. but plucking just takes
too damn lol .. lol and waxing .. what a pain having to go and it's like paying each
time you go to get it done .. unless you do it yourself .. but idk seems painful lol

I am not sure it was the shaving nor deodrant (maybe tho) that caused it. Cause before I use to pluck which didn't help and before i tried staying away from deodrant cause i heard it caused cancer. haha. iono.

there's a deoderant by dermadoctor that has a lightening property in it.
go to a sephora and they'll find it for you.
it's a great regular deoderant too.

You can try Body Ice, that's what I use. I got it from one of the shops here on soompi (lovinhyesung's shop) - it's a deodorant that also whitens your armpits. It's a spray-on. smile.gif

I suggest waxing (:
Plucking takes foreverrrrrrr.
& waxing doesn't hurt much.
You could buy a waxing station & leave it at home,
I'm not sure how much it is,
but i have one at home, because my mom is a hair dresser & does waxing xD
& yeah, it's much better than shaving, & it even lasts a lot longer too!
The hair takes a longer period of time to grow back(:
Try it! biggrin.gif

Just do what I do and DON'T shave your armpit hairs.
Instead, just dye your armpit hairs blond.
I was so amazed how much "lighter" my armpits looked afterward!

I actually read this product on soompi a few days ago and is planning to look for it. However, isn't it for the face? Anyhow I googled it and found 2 different types not sure which.

Scratch that...i reread the thread on top-gel and i am still wary on the ingredients in it. :[
Anyhow my underarm is mainly dark because of the stubs (is that the word?) not cause of the shade of the skin (though it is somewhat a problem)

plucking doesn't cause anything :x
it's the roll-one deodrant you're using.
