Just Bought A Creative Zen 8gb ..but it's not detected when I plug it into my laptop.

So yeah. I just got a Creative Zen 8GB. The reviews for it are pretty good, and when I finally got it, I charged it. Right now it's in my laptop, connected.. but when I try to transfer things into it, it says that there's no player detected. I checked the creative labs website for drivers, but there were none available. I searched through google to find out if there was any way I could fix it, but nothing is working for me.

Can anybody help me?

I'm on a Toshiba tablet PC, with Windows XP.

omg.. i bought the same player but its still on its way.. i hope to hell that doesnt happen to mine... maybe you needa get the software that makes the computer recognize it.. my creative stone also couldnt be recognized at first.. or go into the control pad and do something with the devices.. forgot

Yeah.. I tried everything. Lol. It just won't work on my laptop. It works fine on my mom's.. So at least my player isn't defective, but I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with my laptop.

Did you connect your mp3 player to your computer BEFORE you installed your software?

You should always install the software first since it contains the driver for your mp3 player, then after you can connect it. Im actually stumped on makiroll's problem. All I can think is uninstall the software and the hardware then try it all over again.

A lot of times laptops (especially the ultra portable ones) have issues with power to the USB ports where the player draws too much power trying to charge itself giving the computer problems. Unless you get a powered USB hub not much you can do sadly

Mines was like that too. I used another usb cord and it worked perfectly. Sometimes it depends on the usb cord.

What Windows Media Player version do you have?

I just ordered mine last night, I hope that I won't have the same problems. Does anyone have one and had trouble on Window's Vista?

actually it's ur USB..

happened to me many times.

what type of usb connection do you have on ur computer? 1.1? or high speed 2.0?
\ur creative zen might not support 1.1

check the creative zen box.

yeah, new tech only needs those 2.0 usb ports ~_~ thats what happened to me but who cares now since someone stole my creative!
anyway once you get it working tell me how good it is biggrin.gif i was thinking of buying this. since i cannot find the vision:m anywhere anymore sad.gif

there are many websites and software that can convert
.flv to video
just google it wink.gif

I have an older creative Zen and I can't get it to work with Vista. Vista sucks but I love my player so I use my sister's comp to transfer music.

it doesnt work for flv
mines only takes .avi

all u have to do is drag it to the icon and if u need to convert it then it will convert for u

but since its .flv its wont convert it dry.gif

u have to convert urself
