Typically how long would a Sony Ericsson phone last? Would it survive 3 or 4 years? Because I'm finally getting a new phone and I don't like changing phones every year or two years. My Samsung phone has proven that Samsung phones don't last over 4 years XD So I'd like to know how long Sony Ericsson phones typically last, because I'd like to guy the K850i in Green, which is really expensive for a phone to me, $500. So before spending $500, I'd like to know how long Sony Ericsson phones last so I know if it's worth spending that much on a phone smile.gif

I find SE phones pretty durable. Most of my phones were SE and I dropped them like crazy on concrete and got mine wet, but it still works fine (my friend used to have a Nokia and when she dropped hers, EVERYTHING fell out. Battery cap, batteries and the body lol). Never had mine for 4 years at a time, but definitely 2+ years.

it rly depends what model you get and how you'll handle it.
like what's said above... probably last for more than 2 years.. but (to me) it won't last more than 3 yrs.
i had 2 SE phones since 2005
k750i (last me 2 yrs) but the joystick became unresponsive
&w850i(8 months at max?) - where the joystick buttons are, the shell started to crack around it

I've used Sony Ericsson phones my whole life LOL. I love them<3
For my first phone, I used it for around 2 years until the contract ended so I switched phones. By the end of the contract, my phone was still spanking new, of course with a bit of scratches, but all of the functions are working perfectly fine.
Second one, I didn't use much since I got another SE phone. But my family has the same phone and they've been using it for almost two years now and it looks really new.
For the one I'm using now, I used it for 1.5 years now, but my brother used it before me and then someone used it before him LOL (long story) So I'd say maybe around 3-4 years. My joystick is having some problems now but everything else is perfect. I love the camera and everything.

Sony Ericsson phones are really durable. smile.gif I love it, I still have my old Sony Ericsson cell phone. I dropped it on ground and water but it still works, haha. Plus, the battery life is really good, that's what I noticed about these phones.

SE phones are reliable. Most of my friends have SE.
Mine should last a long time if I take care of it. I don't like to change phones so often unless it breaks down.
I haven't heard of SE phones having major probs yet.

Ayuu~
Considering I had my phone for 4 years, it's in good shape, but I don't get my calls often which really pisses me off.
Thanks, for your info smile.gif

Seems like you abuse your phone often tongue.gif You got yours wet and it still works? Amazing... o.o

hysteric0312
I take good care of my phones lol. My Samsung I have right now hasn't even been dropped 5 times and I'm not lying XD

Luly
Must be really good then, thanks for your comment.

I've had Samsung all my life and I've been loving SE phones for a while! If the phone you're using now has been used by two other people, it definitely must work good woo haha

Antz
5 years? Amazing seriously o.o

joolee.
My first cell phone, I dropped it in water and the screen got messed up so I try to be careful. But if your phone still works after you dropped it in water, I don't know why else I shouldn't get the K850i xD

as others have said, SE phones are quite durable. what you should be aware of is program malfunctioning resulting in the white screen of death. though i think that is specific to the w900i.

id definitely recommend SE phones, my k800i has lasted for so long, and its still so reliable :]. Well featured too

k850..ive heard mixed opinions about this. I think SE's gonna announce some new phones in the next couple of weeks..maybe wait and see if anything else catches your eye?

I've only had my K550i since October. But I love it to death, the phone is still in perfect condition except for the minor scratches from when I dropped it, but the functions are perfectly fine. My brother had a sony ericsson k-series a couple years ago, used it fo 2.5 years and switched phones because his contract ended. It lasted pretty long, even when he stopped using it, everything was still working. So I have to say, I think Sony Ericsson phones will last you a pretty long time if you take care of it. biggrin.gif
