I'm Native American, but from what I've seen of the music scene it's pretty abysmal. (example: a rap group entitled "Tru Rez Cru" ;;) Even the traditional music and dance (why are you just stomping around in a circle?) makes me sleepy with it's boring-ness. ^^;;

And I just want some contemporary songs in a Native language. ANY one. Perferably Mowhawk due to uh, roots. (haha. Like the TV movie. With Geordi... :x), but I think that only has like 4000 some native speakers. I'm not sure how well a polysynthetic language works for songs like that... but someone can try it!

And I don't know how they say she's the biggest Native success. Buffy Sainte-Marie was popular enough to put out music for a REALLY long time and had various best of albums.

never heard of her, but good luck to her. not many...if any NA artists out there doing pop music...that i know of...
