How do I cut a portion of a song to use it as a ringtone?

I have a usb cable and everything for my phone.. all i need to do is somehow be able to use a small part of a song and put it inot my phone for the ringtone biggrin.gif

well... when i had my old phone, i used my dad's motorola program to cut the songs :x but it's only for motorola, so yeah...
i dunno. x.x

use a program..eh i forgot what its called >_<
i used it to cut a part of dialog from borat to use as my text alert lol..
ill come back and edit when i remember the name

ok i found it.. audacity ^^ its easy to use as well biggrin.gif just highlight the part you want, cut it out and paste it into a new file thingo

I use this program called "Wavepad". You can download it on www.downloads.com IIts a pretty simple program to cut music, works great! biggrin.gif

I cut songs down at http://makeownringtone.com so it is just 30 seconds or so and bitrate is 96.
