I'm thinking about getting the 8130 blackberry pearl, and i was just wondering if the phone's gps is somehow inferior to normal gps devices like the tomtom, garmin, or mio.

btw not all pearls come with gps
only some do.
i have a blackberry curve.
i don't use the gps option but!
just to let you know, it's an extra $10 a month
but like the blackberry already comes with unlimted data plan
so you may as well use yahoo.com or maps.com for driving directions.
