teachers give us ~ 1 hour per class for that day ..and i have 5 classes per day. i generally finish my homework fast (when i don't have sports or music practice) ..so i generally finish assignments within 3 hours..it takes longer if i have to study or write an essay.

about 30 minutes-1 hour for each class. I have 7 classes. so let's say 6 hours hw time +2 hours folling around like what I'm doing right now. so 8 hours-ish more or less.

we deserve less hw because then we wouldn't have to stay up so late at night then go to school only to fall asleep in class.

No, the point of our lives right now is to learn. Most people would want to have an extra break on Friday because they just want to have fun or have a break, but by the time we get to the real world we'll have work every day from Monday through Friday, so we can't start slacking off now and might as well get used to it.

I get minimal homework, usually no homework at all as I am a senior and not taking AP courses. I usually spend an hour or less on homework when I do have any.

Why do you think we deserve more/less homework?
I think it depends on the class, but the regular classes definitely need more homework. A lot of regular course students never get homework... I found that a lot of my friends without AP courses slept really early and I always wondered why and now that I'm finally one of them I feel that it's too easy. The transition to college will be a tougher challenge for them.

Yes, I often look ahead of myself at the future so I worry about it and have a constant need to prove myself and be at the top of my class.

Besides, based on teacher's homework giving trends, less school days = heavier homework, plus you can accomplish a lot over a 3 day weekend which means lots of homework on weekends... So, no.

Amount of homework depends on the days (introducing new topics or getting close to tests... that kind of stuff), I usually spend 2-3hr on school days (4-5hrs on extreme days) and 3-4hrs on Sunday (5-6hrs on extreme Sundays...)

More homework helps me remember stuff, but busywork is a waste of time. I hate hate homework but it doesn't take a genius to realize that it's important. Overall, it depends on the subject, if it's a hard subject then yea, more homework is good so you'll fully understand it.

Regular classes:1 AP classes: 5 (homework is easy, the tests are the killers :/)

Depends on what they teach and if they love what they're doing. I've had teachers who work just as hard as the students to help kids understand the material, to spend time grading assignments and giving feedback... On the other hand I've had teachers who do the same things year after year and choose favorites.. it all depends.

Most of the time, because I don't manage my time wisely.

My answers:

1. No I'm fine with having from mon-fri. At least I'll be used to waking up early on weekdays if not I think I'll have a hard time adjusting my body clock when I work.
2. About how much homework is assigned, it really depends. I usually spend at least 2h to finish my homework cos I'll get distracted halfway and end up chatting with my sis instead.
3. We don't deserve. Homework is part of the curriculum, part of education. It's there for a purpose.
4. I give it 5 stars, I'm being neutral.
5. I think again this really depends on the teachers themselves. I'm sure we've all had really awesome dedicated ones as well as really horrible unconcerned ones before.
6. Maybe in the past, I was afraid that I don't do as well as my "gifted" cousin and always want to keep 'face'. But as I grow older, I don't give a bloody damn.

yes, there's so much pressure nowadays to get good grades because of the increasing competition for college. therefore, even if we want to do well in a class...work loads really hinder our progress because it takes too much time away from one class and we might suffer for it

No. I'm not a fan of school at all, but still, I'd rather have it last longer. Gives me more study time, I'm not one to study much on my own time, so having more time at school to do it helps a lot. ^^;;

We have block scheduling at my school, and out of the four classes I take I receive a fair amount of homework from two classes everyday. I'd say I spend about 30-90 minutes working on it. Unless it's a project, then it's usually longer.

Definitely less. Teachers say homework is practice be really I think it's really pointless, without having the guidence of a teacher, I easily begin doing the wrong thing and basically start embedded incorrect information into my head when it comes to HW. I'd much rather perform more classwork instead, so I can learn things correctly then to do homework where I usually have a 50% that I'm doing it wrong.

no.No.NO. I've had so many teachers that could just care less. They just throw a huge amount of bookwork in my face and tell me to do it. And even ones that have no effing idea what they're teaching. (What do you mean the word 'flag' can never repersent anything negative?! What about in a war setting!? And Jupiter is the planet famous for it rings?!? Jupiter doesn't even have rings!)

I don't feel stressed all the time. But when finals and midterms come close, or festival (choir) I do freak out quite a bit.

Being a "student" is practically an occupation. ^^; Not to mention - the way our school system is set up, we need meet a certain number of hours in that course to get the credit for it. ^^; So no Fridays = longer school hours. Decent amount. Sometimes I never have to stay up to do my homework, and 90% of the time I'm done by 10PM. (Mind you I start working at around 7-8PM)

Not all. Some teachers I think should change their occupation because they're destroying another person's life - possibly future career. There are teachers that are THAT bad. =\ Maybe they should just fail more people in Teacher's college, I don't know. =\ The good teachers, though, you can really tell they do a lot for us students. ^^

I think it should stay the same lol. Sometimes homework help student learn more/understand the material better...for me anyways xD. But some teachers should assign more homework though =O. It helps students because homework has points value. If I get homework every other day (like 3 times a week?) and every assignment is worth about 10 points then in a month I will have like 90-120( not good at math >P) points and that's like acing test right there! =O

No. Though I'd like that very much, I don't see how that could be beneficial to students, unless class times became longer. YES. I have so many quizzes/tests every week, it drives me crazy. There are so many things I have to keep up with and so many things to keep track of. Too many things to worry about! Depends on the school. In my school, YEA. I feel like it's pointless. It just makes us more tired and it just takes up time in which we should be using to prepare for really important things, such as SATs.

No. A lot of teachers don't know what they're doing and suck at explaining, like my physics teacher. He was trying to explain momentum and all he could do was repeat what he said before and raise his voice when we didn't understand.
