hi, i've been wanting contacts for the longest time but i've always been too scared to put something on my eye. i've been always anal about little things like eyelash hair on my eye. it gets really painful and its so annoying. so what im saying is that my eyes are really sensitive. i dont know if anyone else have this issue but i've been always so scared of any eye contact. seriously, if i imagine things getting caught in my eyes, i cringe. i really want to get over with this phobia and not let it stop me from getting contacts because im sick of wearing my glasses all the time.
for anyone how has had contacts, were you freaked out about doing it??? do you have the same phobia as me?? were you scared???
everyone is telling me it's so easy but for me, its a big thing. but i really cannot just keep wearing my glasses on all the time. also, which contacts are best? does it ever have an irritable problems????
THANK YOU!

I would suggest you try soft contacts.
I have tried both soft and hard before.
Or even better, wear night contacts.
It'll take some time, but once you stick that contact in your eye, I think some of your phobia will go away.
If you get night contacts, you don't have to worry about it during the day, since you'll be wearing them in your sleep.
Be sure you consult your optometrist. He/she'll have good suggestions.

Well the first time I put on contacts, they felt uncomfortable, only because I wasn't used to them. But like the above poster said, get soft contact lenses. I got those ones and they feel somewhat, 'natural.' Trust me, it's not as painful as getting an eyelash stuck in your eye. It's not painful at all. But it took me forever to put on my contacts the first time I got them, but now it's quick for me to put on and off.

I was like you. I was fascinated at how anyone could stick their finger into their eye basically. My mother, sympathetic lady,
laughed at me.
Anyway, now I wear night contacts.
And sometimes my circle lenses.
The night lenses are pretty comfortable. They take maybe a day or two to get used to but that depends on the person as well.
I like them alot, mainly because I remember how much of a pain my glasses were and cringe.
Oh and it also helped that along the way my optometrist told me that nothing goes behind your eye. So my weird nightmare of having my contact stuck behind my eye and me going blind or something was impossible.
After a while, you just get used to it (:

for me, it took 30 minutes to put on contacts when i first got them ...but now, i take about 30 seconds...if you just get over the phobia, then im sure it'll be a breeze in a matter of a few weeks

Actually, I don't recommend the "night" contacts because a few of my friends use them. Yes, they are convenient. But, A few of them are having eye problems right now, like their eyes are in pain, and their perscription is like skyrocketing. By the way, one of my friends have been using it for like 10 years. I also heard people can get blind from it?

i used to have that phobia... but because i wanted to be able to look good i went and got contacts.
argh it was sooo uncomfortable at first, especially when the optometrist was teaching me how to put them in. took me at least half an hour to put them in and the first night, i couldn't even take them back out .
now, i'm used to it even though i don't wear my contacts all the time

you'll get used to contacts after a while, if you like them you'll wonder why you didnt get them sooner, the're way better than glasses.
& when you're used to them it's like nothing, just part of ur daily routine, contacts are awesome<3
