well my house is kinda to small to fit a treadmill and im kinda self concious about going outside to jog with EVERYONE looking at me cus i might be the olny plus size there
so i was wondering if jogging in place has the same effect as just plain jogging like does it make your legs more muscly and stuff cus your basiclly just jumping up and down or does it provide the same effect as jogging
also i was wondering if you loose alot of weight at once would you have extra skin and if you do will it go away evevtually w/o surgery?
one last thing ^^' srry how bout climbing your steps a couple times? is that good?
thanks in advance ^^'

you can google it and you'll find some answers. i heard that jogging in place hurts your joints and you toes/feet? but i'm not too sure. because jogging in place is not a usual movement for your body.. but i still do it while like watching t.v., or just around the house O.o but it doesn't have the same effect as actually running.

LOLOL OMG this is so ghetto (sorry but i can say this because i actually did it) When i lived in an apartment and i couldnt have a treadmill + i was self conscious like you so ya i'd jog in place for like.. 30 minutes to an hour.. and HOLY COW did i sweat like mad... btw when you stop.. you'll feel extremely dizzy but it has somewhat of the same effect... In my opinion jogging in place vs a treadmill... treadmill is harder... (depending on level of course though) since the jogging in place is easier... it means you gotta do it longer... basically... jogging in place is doing girl push ups and actual jogging/treadmill is real push ups
Edit:
HOLY COW... i missed the running the steps... funny you should say that.. I did that aswell.. LOL and definitely running stairs is harder than running, but if you do a system that i did you can do it for longer, and therefore burn more calories:
1) run fast up the steps
2) jog down the steps to catch your breath
3) repeat 1 and 2

I can only answer the question about the loose skin. Yes loosing weight will give you loose skin but if you exercise while loosing the weight you can prevent it. That means not just jogging but all kinds of different exercise that affects all your muscles. If you exercise daily for an hour or so it will tighten your skin.

Yes, it's about the same thing but it can cause injuries to your ankles/knees. If you're self conscious about running outside, I'd suggest you try DDR (game) instead. It's fun and you can do it in the privacy of your home. Down side you, do need a console to play. There's also rope jumping. My uncle did that in the morning for 30 minutes every day for a few months and lost a lot of weight (his pot belly was gone). He's continuing the 30 minutes to keep in shape. =)
Running up and down your stairs works also.
But you shouldn't feel self conscious about working out outside =) everyone's trying to lose weight/keep fit, no one will stare. Even if they do, just ignore it and make like "I'll prove it to you" thing. And who knows, you may meet a new friend that are/were in the same situation.
With the lose skin.. as long as you don't lose weight too fast it shouldn't be a problem but I heard shea butter and aloe vera helps preventing those stretch marks and lose skin (i think, don't quote me on this though).
Good luck!
