MY RSX TYPE-S IS TOTALED. tears.gif

I guess these pictures can explain more than words. I was driving with two of my friends in very very heavy rain on the farthest left lane on the highway and I believe I hydroplaned on a pothole with alot of water. I hit the guardrail and when I thought that was it... we flipped in the air twice and then landed on the tires... and when we really thought it was over... a ford explorer crashed into my left side and swerved us to the farthest right lane. When everything was over, I couldnt get out of my side of the door and the passenger door was too close to the guardrail to open all the way but luckily it opened a few inches and we were able to squeeze through.

I don't recall the accident being as bad as it sounds and I didn't even feel the ford explorer hit me because I was so shocked from the flips. It took me awhile to figure out how all this happened but I got a few statements from witnesses which helped me figure things out. I was pretty upset in general but also because a few hours before the accident, I just got my car back from the shop because it was getting fixed from my last accident. I'm trying to look at this accident as a positive thing because no one got severly injured and all of us are alive.

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

hydroplaning is no joke. i wonder how fast you were going...btw if it's raining heavily, you should know there is going to be a lot of water forming on the side of the roads, the chances of hydroplaning increases severely when you're travelling at high speeds, which you probably shouldn't have been doing.

your car is totalled but atleast you and your friends are okay.

boost: wow... thats all i can say & i'm so surprised ur brother was alright ohmy.gif

cksdayoff: yeah i was aware of that and was only going about 50mph due to the rain and everyone slowing down. i'm glad that i was going any faster or it could have been much worse.

Your car flipped twice? That's insane.

It's great that everyone is alright.

ieatpho: yeah it saved all our lives. i just have bruises on my left arm and shoulder, my right leg, and my lower back. my friend who was sitting in the passenger seat has a few bumps on her head and my friend who was sitting in the back had no injuries.

Clix: yeah i kno. i only remember flipping once but all the witnesses said we flipped twice. i guess since we flipped so quick i only felt it once.

Izzie: yes i hope that i never have to experience this again.

if u get another car, get one with awd, and then swap out the all season tires for some good summer/rain tires. With awd and good rain tires, your chances of hydroplaning decreases dramatically.

umm 50mph in heavy heavy rain is fast no matter whether your on the highway or not. thank god for my traction control system and responsive steering.

Don't worry about the car.. you can always get a new one later on.

At least you're all right!

the fc3s had no traction control and it can handle the rain just fine. the wipers can't keep up.

ahh my former friend had an incident just like yours. she just got her car back from the shop and we hydroplaned on the highway and it was totaled. we were going 80 mph in heavy rain. so stupid.
