Caring, Our Way of Life

So, I was looking on that thread about extra curricular activities
and I saw that a few members were in Key Club (like me!). That
left me to wondering...exactly how many Key Club members are
also here on Soompi? Share your stories, your service projects,
and your opinions about being a member of Key Club International!

I'm Linda, and I've been a Key Club member since my sophomore
year (last year). At my school, freshman aren't allowed to join
service clubs so I couldn't join Key until I was in 10th grade. ):

I do a lot of service projects with Key and I think the best project
I have done was a local project where I went to help out at a local
dentist's office. The dentist spends an entire day every year giving
free dental care to underprivileged kids and it was really fun helping
out and playing with the kids. (: What are you guys up to?

Have you been to D-CON ? I really want to go this year...but it's kind of expensive for me T_T

I love projects that a lot of people go to. One of my favorite's was the Rose Bowl Float Decorating project (it was tiring though x_x) and Fall Rally is just the awesomest <3

I'm D-13 of the FL District. ^^ This April will be my first year attending
DCon and I've never been more excited. It's in Orlando and the theme
is Mardi Gras. Hehe. Our current president went last year and says it is
super fun.

Rose Bowl Float? That sounds so cool! I love working with kids and for
me, the fun projects are when we help out local elementary schools or
get to work with kids, hehe. It's nice to meet you! ^^

Kindergarten reading! Aww, that sounds so fun. Hehe, I love little kids
so all the projects involving little ones are incredibly fun for me. XD
President for two years in a row? Too cool. I wanted to run for President
next year but I decided to run for Lt. Governor instead. ^^

i just help out everyday after school from recycling..
and i've never been to DCON
i want to but can't..
i have an AP final exam that day

I'm in my first year key club. I'm a sophomore.
I haven't really done much. My goal is to get all my points hopefully. Which I need to work real hard on. I haven't been to active since i put all my time and energy into band and tennis. Next year I think I'll do more and better since I can start driving, it gives me more independence and time to do the volunteer.
We help out around town a lot. I helped out with tutoring. Just to get matierals to the kids. There's a lot of help with marathons.

I'm in KC too, but with family issues and responsibilities I barely have time to attend the meetings
which are held afterschools. Our officers can't hold members together -.-; But hopefully 07-08 will be better.

I was in Key Club since Freshmen year.
Historian for Junior and then Bulletin Editor for Senior.
Key Club was my main service club; I didn't join the other ones like Environmental or Red Cross because I got lazy. lol

I went to DCON last year. My friend lost my cellphone there, but I had a good time. lol

So I am very
devastated because it looks as though I am
the only member going to DCON this year!
It's the same weekend as our prom, so many
of the upperclassmen aren't going to DCON,
and many of the underclassmen don't want
to go. I talked to my adviser and she says
that if I'm the only one going, the club will
pay the entire way for me to go, but I wished
my members were there too!! T_T

This is my first year in KC, because last year, I forgot to turn in my form on time..I kind of feel guilty for not going to so many events during the fall, because of band.. @_@ but I'm definately putting more effort in from now on since I have a little more time.

I'm in (or was in) Key Club. It was created my sophomore year, but they were inactive. Then junior year Key Club got a new president and the club actually did things for that year such as volunteer, card making, unicef donations, etc. This year, it's inactive again. I think it merged with our Character Education committee.

XD well of course ;_; thats where all the Asian people are. There actually are/were several CNH Key Club threads in the soompi network (west coast) forum. But yeah..
Joined (after DCON) in 9th grade.. in 2006-2007, I was the Ltg for Division 19 (of hte NY District Key Club) and yeah... LOL then life was stupid and the governor was stupid (LOL so mean >_>'' but yeah). etcetc. Im not a super keyclubber as I was before but yeah. Uhm.. o_o Im not sure if Im going to convention @__@.. Its March 28th-30th.. And Its so close to around when college admissions start coming out (i heard Berkeley was the 27th? and UCLA's probably aorund then.. And eveyrthing else is around April 1... Plus, there's this summer program I reapplied for comes out the 30th.. And yeah.. XD Im scared that the internet there will suck at then my parents will find out before meee ;___;.)
