Hav you guys noticed this?
Like all the korean fob kids I know dress in the high name brands and carry louis vuitton bags. haha
Sometimes I feel a bit left out cuz I'm not like that. (I'm more casual)
Iono I just noticed that they are much more mature than korean americans?
Like when I talk to them sometimes I feel left out?
maybe its just me but yeah

I don't think all are (I'm not Korean). My international friend from Korea -- she's cool, laidback, and dresses casual. She's no different than me and my friends. But she does ask all the time why my guy friends are so immature. Haha. My dorky guy friends are just like that because they've never seen a Korean girl before -- so they try to act "cool" around her. ROFL. She have always mentioned that she likes mature guys though. I don't know if she's considered a "Fob Korean" since I'm not one to be able to define that and whatnot.

You think they're mature?!
Well yeah I guess they are..
Depends on the person.
And mainly the style.
------
What I heard from my friend is that they hate the word SEX!
They think it's vulgar to talk about it.
My friend say that they learn a small amount of sex in school.
Then they just stop teaching it.
So whenever they hear the word sex or something sexual.
They make a

you have no idea how many students are corruped in korea lol not to be offensive, but yeah, a handful of my friends..-__-..yeah..
anyways,
it really depends on the person. i have friend who're born in 1991~1992 and they do NOT look like high schoolers >_> more like college..
but then i have some high school friends who look just right for their age...
it just depends on their friends and who they hung out with in korea..

For me it's the other way around. XDD
Most of my non-fob Korean friends are more aware in general of the world/tend to dress more maturely. And act pretty mature too.
HAHA. My fob friends are a more carefree and uninhibited though. And also adorable. AHAHAHAHA.
And please. So many Koreans have a fixation on name brands regardless of where they are. XDD
Especially ajummas and young women. HAHA.
Korean-Americans have that too.
I'm almost positive that at least at one point in their life EVERY Korean-American has gone through an "Abercrombie and Fitch/Hollister/AE" phase where practically everything they bought was plastered with an obvious logo.
But yeah. It just depends on the individuals. Maybe you just have a really stylish and mature group of fob friends? LOL.
Besides, it's not exactly mature to make others feel left out. o:

sure they dress and look that way, but most of them don't really live for the future
and yes ;X I know this is generalizing
but you rarely find A+ fobs
being a "fob" takes up a lot of time

*shrugs* I used to be one myself, before I got more "whitewashed"
A+ was a hyperbole =_=; what I meant was getting decent grades
and it's not as if that's impossible - many koreans new to a country get pretty decent grades
the problem is that "fobs" is pretty hard to describe
i'm talking about the fobs that people are usually talking about on this forum - the typical uljjangs, etc.
there are no REAL fobs on this forum, because (the korean ones at least) stick to cyworld, naver, and daum
the stereotypical fob lifestyle isn't that easy, and it IS high maintenance
and oh, next time, quoting might make it easier to understand what you're talkig about

I'm reffering to the style. Not that it's actually how they are.

that was a joke but anyways- i don't quite qualify of being a fob but the majority of people i hang out with are fobs. i speak fluent korean and it kinda is true that fobs are somewhat exclusive when it comes to the people they hang out with. but other than that, i dont really see any problems with them... but then again, the fobs i know are only a very eeny weeny percent of the fobs in america so... yeah.
