Uhm the answer to your question is in your statement.
Your muscles get bigger, your legs get thicker, simple as that.
Do it in moderation.

agreed with the comment on top.

if you overdo on jump roping your calves gets bigger from muscles which causes weight to increase.
Doing squats with no weights are good for toning thighs but only do about 3 sets of 10 reps. xDD

hope i helped. ^^
Have a nice day!

Well, if you want to LOSE WEIGHT, you could cut back on jump roping. If you want to be more in shape and healthy, keep jump roping, but like mentioned, in moderation. Muscle weighs more than fat, but it's also replacing the fat, so you'll feel a lot better and have more energy. =)

no matter what exercise you do, if you go from doing NO exercise to doing some exercise, you will gain muscle. don't let the initial results tell you that it's not working. in fact, those muscles will not help you burn MORE calories not only when you're exercising, but also when you rest.

just make sure you stretch and just keep at it. the real reward when it comes time that you lose the layer of fat that's the REAL issue.

Only 2 days and you got bulky?
How much did you skip a day and for how long?

In January, I did 4 weeks of jump-roping.
Like 45mins - 1 hour everday.
I do 100 and then rest for 1 min, another 100 and then rest another minute.
Oh, I don't speed.
In total, I skip 1500-2000 a day.
After that I'd stretch my legs.
& I lost 3kg like that.
Rules:
Absolutely no sugar. MORE water.
Breakfast is a must.
Lunch lesser than breakfast.
Dinner the smallest meal and always before 6PM.
No snacks.

& I THINK I reached a plateau and didn't lose weight during the 4th week. sad.gif
Like when your body gets used to the exercises... you won't burn fats. dry.gif
I kind of lived without sugar for too long.

So I stopped for 1 week and I'm starting to exercise again this week.
Instead of jump-roping, I'm jogging. smile.gif
Now I'm going to allow myself to rest every week.
Like on Sundays, I'll eat whatever I want.
I heard that's supposed to help...
Cause you're surprising your body.
I'll see if I lose more weight this way.

The key is to stretch A LOT.
I mean, when you lose weight by exercising you will get muscles.
Always stretch so that your muscles will not be as bulky.
Then you'll look nice.
If you lose weight by eating less, you're not gonna get firm arms, stomach or legs.

All the best on your weight loss!

If you have that effect after only two days,

be afraid, be very afraid...
You have angered the Sun god Ra, you must make amends immediately.
I've heard that Ra is a fan of fondue parties.

LOL WHAAAT? Make you fatter?! Haha nooo XD
It can aid in losing weight if you jump rope for 10 minutes every day!
(even tho its a killer pain T^T!!)
But your legs thickens =X

there's no way an exercise can make you fatter -___- lol maybe more muscular but not fatter
anyways, yeah with any exercise you do..make sure you stretch before and after the workout. it's good for you and won't make you bulky

jump roping does not build muscle... especially after 2 days
for everyone who claims jumping rope builds muscle, are yall measuring your calves before and after?
or is this purely speculation based on appearance?
if anything, yall probably lost fat around the calf area making your calves look more define therefor more muscular.

You should stretch before and after jump-roping. smile.gif
I stretch like BoA did in the first part of her Moto MV.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=TIBAB-MvR1o
& then I'll reach my toes with my hands (apparently, I have a very stiff back, so I still can't reach my toes...)
Make sure you stretch for 30seconds on each stretch move.
You can try other stretchings... as long as you flex and loosen your leg muscles.
I usually stretch 5 minutes long.

You'll have muscle-aches and stuffs but you'll feel okay after a few days of doing the same routine.

yea same thing happend to me...thats why i stopped...it went away though....don't be scared...its just the muscles...because when your jump roping it burns your arms and legs and the muscles build up..thats why your arms get big...but you should do other stuff too instead of jump rope....i think running/jogging is better, at least you loose fat and weight faster without no muscle gain....so try that!
