I'm a junior. I want to major in...Biochemistry (not really sure what I need to major in to become an optometrist) and maybe Japanese. I'm hoping to go to UC Irvine or CSU Long Beach... Then I want to get into the School of Optometry @ Berkeley.

If I want to become an elementary school teacher, would I major in education? It's liberal studies, right?

I know being an elementary school teacher is a low paying job, and I could probably do well as something else, but I just adore kids and I think my life would be truly satisfying as a teacher. The only thing is, I'll probably have to go to a cal state or something for my major, cause I don't know of any UCs that offer education as a major. (Is that even a major?)

I'm a freshman, lol, but it never hurts to think about what you're gonna do in a few years. In three years though, I want to go to CAL. It's my first and only choice right now, but I haven't really thought about colleges I want to apply to, just what I want to do during high school XD;

I really love history so I'm hoping to major in Asian history or U.S. history. I'll be in AP World next year and hopefully AP U.S. the year after that ^^;
But I don't know what possible career I have in majoring in history? :/ I don't really care for the money, just as long as I do what I love, but I can't think of anything other than being a teacher (No, thanks lol I don't think I could handle it).

It's my biggest goal right now to get into Stanford. I don't know what to major in, even though my most prominent skill is music, I really don't want to pursue music as a career. I'm lost right now as to how I find out what I want to major in, but a soompier who attends usc told me to worry about getting into the school first, and then worry about which major/minor.

OHH! I love history, too! (Haha i'm such a dork) But yeah..I like journalism more I guess.

AP World is not that bad btw. In fact, it'll be pretty easy if you like history (which you do). For our school, there's lot of reading and homework notes. Make sure you do those or else it'll kill you for the AP exam!

Haha journalism is more than handling the school newspaper. It's being aware of the society, constantly reporting and interviewing people for the society. Writing style's opposite of English. There's a lot of commitment that needs to be involed.. (prelayouts, discussions, layouts, etc) Hehe. I tried out for our schools newspaper..but unfortunately the teacher's super biased. (and she's telling us that she was a journalist )
