http://thehollywoodextra.blogspot.com/ has some renderings of an Infiniti GTR 4-Door. I might consider going VIP style with one of these... but it kinda sorta reminds me of a caddy?

put me on the waiting list!! that thing is hot, hopefully it will be around 60K or less so it would be competing with the M5 and the RS4, which are really nice car, but the M5 and the RS4 look like an ordinary A4 and 5-series sad.gif . I want something different by them, this could be the ultimate sedan for the price smile.gif

Doubtfully it would be 60k or less. The Nissan GTR already is 70K+, if anything it would be more since Infiniti is basically a luxury line of Nissan.

also the g can already run mid 13s stock and the hks intakes adds an estimated 10 extra hp and the exhausts add like 8 so yeah it should shove off about 1.5 to 2 sec off my times

^ That is right there is no Infiniti outside of American, Canadian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, South Korean and Taiwanese markets. Infiniti is just Nissan's 'luxury' line created in certain markets to differentiate to the common consumer, just like Acura is to Honda.

I like the front on this rendering picture, and the rear better on the actual production GTR.

Nissan should stick to one GTR the way Honda kept the S2000 to celebrate its heritage from being released as an Acura.

I'm don't understand what you mean? I believe the R33 and R34 GTR's had 2-door and 4-door counterparts?

All I said was it should stick to its main brand without variants of it under the Infiniti label. What is this about 2 door, 4 door? I'm referring to the Nissan label when I said "sticking to one." I think it would be odd and stupid to have a Infinity GTR or variant of it when there is already a Nissan GTR out there. It wouldn't make financial sense to the company.

That car pictured is simply called the GT-R and the one that was produced between 1989-xxxx was a Skyline. or so I heard.

I see your point about the naming conventions. I am sure they could/would name it something different rather than infringing on the 'Nissan' and 'GTR' relationship. But other than the name, the car would still be based on the same engine/platform and it would in essence be a 'GTR' anyway regardless of what the official name would be...

I don't think anyone mentioned the word 'Skyline' until you did. But you are right in that the GTR (R35) does not share the same platform with the Skyline/G35 (V35) anymore.
